Detailed Lesson Plan in Arts 8

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

1. Analyzed elements and principles of art in the production of arts and crafts inspired by the cultures of South Asia,
West Asia, and Central Asia.
2. Appreciate the ethnic and unique characteristics of art form and style through creating and viewing similar artwork

II. Subject Matter

Main Topic: ARTS AND CRAFTS OF WEST ASIA


Reference: Grade 8 Music and Arts of Asia Learners Module
Materials: Pictures, Video presentation, powerpoint presentation, laptop and television

III. Procedure

A. Daily Routine

Let’s all stand for our opening prayer. (The student will rise)
(The teacher will lead the prayer)

Good morning class! Good morning Sir ! Welcome to 8 Pacquio It’s nice
to see you.

Group Leaders, who are absent in your group? (The group leaders will give the list of absentee)

B. Review

Okay. Before we start our topic for today. We


will have a review.
What is our topic last meeting? It’s about the Central Asian Arts
Central Asian is made up of 5 countries Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan
Which country comes in Central Asia? and Kyrgyzstan.

Okay. Very Good!


Can you give an example of the famous
artwork or trademark of Uzbekistan? Sir the printed cloth.
Very Good!

Now, How about in Kazakhstan ? The petroglyphs

Last. In Turkmenistan What is the beautiful


dresses worn by Turkmen women on special The Keteni Sir!

C. Motivation

Class we are going to draw. Each one of you


will draw in this illustration board.

I will give you 10 sec to draw anything you


want in this illustration and after that we will
analyzed your drawing. Is that clear? Yes sir!

D. Lesson Proper

Now, our topic for today is Arts and Crafts of


West Asia

West Asia is rich in cultural heritage. This is


clearly evident in the variety and quality of
regional arts and crafts.

This are example of arts and crafts in West Asia

Although these are some of the most acclaimed


art forms contributed by West Asia, their
aesthetics can be seen in almost any product
from the region even including such things as
handmade soap from Syria or Lebanon.

Application

Now yesterday I told you that bring the


following materials for making diyas art.

Materials:

Craft papers
Pencil or pen – for tracing the template
Scissors
Craft glue or glue stick
String
Beads

Do you bring all the materials?

For making Diyas you will follow this


procedure. Yes Sir!
Step 1:
Select 2 different shades of craft papers for the round
patterns and yellow colored craft paper for the
teardrop pattern (flame). Trace the patterns and cut
out 8-10 teardrop patterns from the yellow paper and
12-15 round patterns from the other 2 papers.
Step 2:
Take a round cut out and fold it into half.
Step 3:
Fold the piece from the previous step into half again.
Step 4:
Similarly fold all the other round cutouts into half
twice.
Step 5:
Take any 2 folded round patterns and apply glue
along one of the cutouts closed sides. Once you are
done gluing all the pieces together glue the last piece
with the first piece on their sides.
Step 6:
Join the other folded round cutout with the glued one
from side. Keep gluing each cutout one by one.
Step 7:
Take the yellow teardrop cutouts and fold them into
half lengthwise.
Step 8:
Glue them side by side along their closed ends. At
the end, glue the last piece with the first piece along
their sides.
Step 9:
Prepare a string with needle and tie a knot on its end.
Insert 2-3 beads into the string and push them all the
way to the knot.
Step 10:
Insert the paper pattern prepared in step 5 into the
string through its hole along the center.
Step 11:
Now insert the paper pattern (flame) prepared in step
8 into the string through its hole along the center.
Step 12:
Push the pattern all the way to the previous pattern.
Tie a knot 1 or 2 inches apart from the
flame and insert beads into the string.

The activity for today is fun, its difficult to make diyas


but I loved making arts.
