Abstract Commented [Mr.8]: Times Roman, 12 pts, Italicized and bold

(4 blank spaces)

This is the jest of the project, report or dissertation that you have carried out. Be very
precise on this part as it informs prospective readers about its contents. As a brief summary
of the candidate's principal research findings, the abstract should state the problem being
investigated and outline the method of investigation, the results obtained, and the
conclusions reached. It should be a concise guide to the entire study as it functions chiefly
as a guide to students and scholars surveying research in their field.

The abstract is written at the last but appears in the front, should be simple in English.
Always be cautious not to include internal headings or parenthetical citations of items listed
in the bibliography/list of references. Figures and tables should not appear in the abstract.

Note: Not more than 150 words followed by keywords.

NOTES

Length of the Thesis

There is no limitation to the length of the thesis that you produce, as this depends entirely
on the theme that you work on. Always be ready to incorporate the important contexts only,
do not include the unreasonable and unnecessary texts. However for Bachelors Project the
threshold level can be set to at least 25 pages (From Chapter 1 to Chapter 5)

Font size, character, line spacing and margins

It is highly recommended that you give consistency to the thesis writing. This gives an
impression of good writing skills. The students are suggested to use Times New Roman
font size 12 points with single line spacing and bold wherever necessary as prescribed
in the format. The heading should be of 12 points. Please adopt the following margin
allocations in developing the text:

Left margin 3 cm 1.2 inch

Right margin 2.5 cm 1 inch
Top margin 2.5 cm 1 inch
Bottom margin 2.5 cm 1 inch

Heading

All the headings put in 12 pts in Times New Roman and made bold. Allow one line
spacing below the primary and higher level headings. For example;

Chapter 1

Introduction

1.1 Background

Paragraph

Leave one line between the two paragraphs to distinguish the text. Ensure logical sequence,
connectedness and consistency in each paragraph. For example,

Bullets and numbering

Use bullets and numbering cautiously. Following pattern of numbering is proposed in

organizing the text:

1st level (heading) 1

2nd level (sub-heading) 1.1
3rd level (sub-sub heading) 1.1.1
4th level I, II, III
5th level i, ii, iii
6th level a, b, c

Tables and figures (Centered)

Try to integrate the figures and tables into the main body of the text. Use minimum font size
of 11 pts in developing figures and tables. All tables and figures used in the text must be
appropriately numbered and captioned. For example,

For chapter 1

Figure 1.1 …… (Below Figure, Centralized)

Table 1.1 ……. (Above Table, Centralized)

For Chapter 2

Figure 2.1 ……
Table 2.1 …….

Leave one line between the figure/table and the caption. In order to ensure connectedness,
describe the tables/figures in the text first before putting them at appropriate location.

Page number

Always put the page number at the bottom centre of the page in Times New Roman with
regular font size 11.

Appendices

The appendices, if any, should be put to the end of the text, after the List of References. All
appendices should be numbered as Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix C, and so on.
