Brent Kocal 30DDC Daily Targets

My target is a little different from the usual... I thought of using a more conventional target
and then I thought that would not be honest.

Day 1: Target
I am an advanced meditator who meditates at least three hours daily and
has mastered the first to fourth jhanas by 30th June 2021.

Day 2: The Five Whys


1. Why do I want to be an advanced meditator?
Because I want to attain nibbana.
2. Why do I want to attain nibbana?
Because nibbana is complete liberation from all suffering.
3. Why do I want to get complete liberation from all suffering?
Because I want the happiness that is absolute, infinite, permanent and
perfect.
4. Why do I want the happiness that is absolute, infinite, permanent
and perfect?
Because this happiness is the ultimate happiness.
5. Why do I want ultimate happiness?
Because this happiness is infinitely more important than anything else.

Day 3: Pain of taking action to hit my target and pain of not taking
action to hit my target
Acting to hit my target
1. Less time and energy for my other goals
2. Physical pain = sitting long
3. Less time for family issues
4. Neglect of my online business
Not Acting to hit my target
1. Ignorance will increase
2. Craving will increase
3. Suffering will increase
4. I will be stuck in my negative habit
patterns

Day 4: Short-term pleasures sacrified and long-term benefits gained


Short-term pleasures sacrificed
1. TV
2. ER
3. Internet video – Prime and YouTube
4. internet, email, WhatsApp
5. Online business = making money
6. Social interaction
7. Instant gratification
Long-term benefits gained
1. Metta
2. Compassion
3. Joy
4. Equanimity
5. Jhanas
6. Wisdom
7. Nibbana

Day 5: Commitment versus actions


My commitment to achieve my target = 10
My actions to achieve my target is = less than 3
I will definitely be working on my actions and bringing them closer to my
commitment.
