perate and release water during the typhoon that they said causes the wide spread floodings in Cagayan
and Marikina. The other of the massive flooding was the long duration of the typhoon Ulysses. Even
though the rain causes by typhoon Ondoy was far more stronger than the typhoon Ulysses, the flooding
causes by typhoon Ulysses was compared as of typhoon Ondoy or maybe worst. Why? It is because the
typhoon Ulysses stays for almost fifthteen hours straight unlike that of Ondoy that of only eight hours.
Another thing I think that the reason for this was the(100) series of typhoon last month because there
were four or five consecutive typhoon that past through the Philippines. Even though they were not that
strong, they still causes rain and it rises the water of river in our country that is why when typhoon
Ulysses came, the soil was wet there were water under the soil layer causes by previous typhoons so it
cannot help to absorb water.Deforestation is another cause I think, because it causes soil erosion and
that soil went to Cagayan River that may lesses the depth of the River.(94)

Based on the video, from what Dr. Tabios said that this problem cannot be solve by only one solution,
I think the best solution for this are first, reforestation to avoid soil erosion and also the trees can help a
little bit to absorb water. Then creating a series of flood control dams and multi purpose dams to stock
water during typhoon. Another one is the Marikina River flood tunnel to pacific ocean or that tunnel
from marikina river to manila bay to lessen the water in Marikina River. But these were just a
conclusions, just like said by in(100) the video, we are not sure if it can help until it was done and we
saw the result. So for now let us just pray and hope that no more strong typhoons that wil
