Recreational activities include all kinds of sports, both team and individual. Baseball, softball, football,
basketball, volleyball, tennis, swimming jogging, skiing, hiking, aerobics, rock climbing, and camping are all
active forms of recreation. Passive recreational activities include reading, fishing, playing and listening to
music, gardening, playing computer games, and watching television or movies. Recreation is an integral
part of the nation's total social, economic, natural resource, and urban environment. It is a basic component
of individual and social behavior and aspiration
RECREATION
Recreation as defined in the dictionary is the process of giving new life to something, of restoring
something. Recreation is synonymous with lifestyle and the development of a positive attitude. Recreation
allows people to have fun together and to form lasting relationships built on the experiences they have
enjoyed together. This recreational process is called bonding.
Leisure is best described as time free from work or discretionary time. Some recreation professionals use
the words leisure and recreation interchangeably while others define leisure as the "productive." "creative,"
or "contemplative" use of free time.

National parks have become very popular designations for travelers. People are visiting these parks in
great numbers for various recreational and educational purposes:

To see plants and animals in their natural environment
To view major sights
To learn about significant battles in the various wars and other significant events from history.

Commercial recreation has been defined as "recreation for which the consumer pays and for which the
supplier expects to make a profit."
Theme parks
Theme parks create an atmosphere of another place and time, and usually concentrate on one dominant
theme around which architecture, landscaping, costumed personnel, rides, shows, foodservices, and
merchandise are coordinated.
Amusement Park
it features various attractions, such as rides and games, as well as other events for entertainment
purposes.
CLUBS
Clubs Private clubs are places where only members gather for social, recreational, professional, or fraternal
reasons. Club members pay an initiation fee to belong to the club and annual membership dues thereafter.
Some clubs charge a set utilization fee, usually related to food and beverages, which is charged whether or
not those services are used.
Country Club
A country club offers recreational facilities; the focus generally is on golf, but tennis and swimming are
frequently included. Occasionally, other activities, such as horseback riding, pool rooms, card rooms,
aerobic facilities and other activities are also provided for the members enjoyment.
Nearly all country clubs have one or more lounges and restaurants, and most have banquet facilities. The
banquet facilities are used for formal and informal parties, dinners, dance, weddings, and so on by
members and their personal guests.
City Clubs
City clubs are predominantly business-oriented; they vary in size, location, type of facility, and services
offered. Clubs exist to cater to the wants and needs of members. Clubs in the city fall into the following
categories:
Professional clubs are clubs for people in the same profession.
Social clubs allow members to enjoy one another's company; members represent many different
professions, yet they have similar socio-economic backgrounds.
Athletic clubs give city workers and residents an opportunity to work out, swim, play squash and/or
racquetball, and so on.
Dining clubs are generally located in large city office buildings. These clubs are always open for lunch and
occasionally for dinner.
Yacht clubs provide members with moorage slips, where their boats are kept secure. These have lounge,
bar, and dining facilities similar to other clubs. Yacht clubs are based on a sailing theme and attract
members with various backgrounds who have sailing as one of their common interests.

OKADA Manila
Okada Manila (Japanese: オカダマニラ, romanized: Okada Manira) is a casino resort and hotel
complex located on the Entertainment City gaming strip in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines. In 2007,
with a total construction cost of about 250 billion Yen and spending 7 years, Japanese billionaire Kazuo
Okada established and managed Okada Manila.
Okada Manila occupies an area of 45 hectares (110 acres) of the Entertainment City 26,410.77 square
metres (284,283.2 sq ft) allotted to gaming. The hotel building of Okada Manila is composed of the Pearl
and Coral Wings with each wing having 15 floors to be connected by two sky bridges. The glass facade of
the building has a gold color representing the hue of Manila Bay's sunset, and is one of the casino's key
themes. The US$2.4 billion phase one of the casino project includes 993 hotel rooms. More than 3,000
electronic gaming machines and 500 table games were planned to be installed in the casino complex.
Included in Okada Manila's amenities are The Retreat Spa, a full-service wellness center that offers luxury
spa services; and PLAY, an indoor facility for the learning-oriented entertainment of children and teens.
There is also an allotted 8,409 square metres (90,510 sq ft) shopping area within the casino.
The Fountain
The Fountain at Okada Manila is the largest dancing fountain in the Philippines. Measuring 37,464 square
meters (403,260 sq ft), the Okada Manila fountain is slightly smaller than The Dubai Fountain at the Burj
Khalifa Lake in the United Arab Emirates.
The Garden
The Garden is a lush open space overlooking Manila bay. It occupies more than 30,000 square meters of
manicured greenery and features five reflective ponds covering over 3,000 square meters. The Garden
serves as a relaxation area for guests, as well as a venue for celebrations and special events.
Cove Manila
Cove Manila is an indoor beach club during the day and a night club at night.
Cove Manila opened to the public on December 15, 2017, with DJ Steve Aoki headlining the event.[16] The
venue already hosted an event prior to its opening which was the after-party event for Miss Universe 2016
which was held in January 2017. Miss Earth 2019 was held on October 26, 2019.
Resorts World Manila is an integrated resort, located in Newport City, opposite the Ninoy Aquino
International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. The resort is owned and
operated by Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. (TIHGI), a joint venture between Alliance Global
Group and Genting Hong Kong. The project, occupying part of a former military camp, has four hotels,
casino gambling areas, a shopping mall, cinemas, restaurants, clubs and a theater. A soft launch of the
resort took place on 28 August 2009. Resorts World Manila is the sister resort to Resorts World Genting,
Malaysia and Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore. It was the first integrated resort in Metro Manila, and from
2009 to 2013 it was the only one in operation until the opening of Solaire Resort & Casino in Entertainment
City, Parañaque on March 16, 2013, followed by the opening of City of Dreams Manila on December 14,
2014 on Roxas Boulevard.
Resorts World Manila formally opened in July 2015 the Marriott Grand Ballroom. Touted as the largest
hotel ballroom in the Philippines, its main feature is a 3,000 sqm pillarless ballroom that can seat up to
2,500 people for a banquet event, and up to 4,500 for a concert setup. The main ballroom can be
subdivided into four sections for smaller events, but there are other venues within the facility for a total of
28 spaces for various events.

Blackjack - A table game in which the winning hand is determined by whether the dealer or the player gets
cards that add up to a number closest or equal to 21 without going over.
Casino - An area in which gaming activities take place involving table games and slot machines.
Craps - A table game played with two dice.
Drop entertainment - The total amount wagered in a casino during a period of time.
Gaming entertainment - are businesses that offer games of risk as a part of a total package of
entertainment and leisure time activities including resort hotels, various food service concepts, retail
shopping, theme parks, live entertainment, and recreational pursuits.
Gambling - Playing a game of risk for the thrill of the "action" and the chance of
making money.
Handle-Dollars wagered, or bet, often confused with "win." Whenever a customer places a bet, the handle
increases by the amount of the bet. The handle is not affected by the outcome of the bet.
Poker - A card game in which participants play against each other instead of the
casino.
Roulette-A traditional table game in which a dealer spins a wheel and players wager on which number a
small ball will fall.
Slot machine - An electronic gaming device.
Social gambler - A gambler who plays a game of risk as a form of entertainment and a social activity,
combining gambling with many other activities during their visit.
Wager - A sum of money, property, or other compensation to be paid to the person who wins a bet.
Win - Dollars won by the gaming operation from its customers. The net spending of customers on gaming is
called the win, also known as gross gaming revenue (GGR).
