LESSON

Paraffin wax treatment has both aesthetic and health benefits. Wax
has a natural soothing agent that helps skin become smooth and soft.
It adds moisture to the skin which helps maintain the skin young
looking. It also helps relieve pains. Proper application of paraffin wax
prevents the growth of varicose veins.

Steps in Paraffin Wax Treatment

1. Melt the paraffin wax. (The wax is ready to use when it is already
totally melted and in watery state.)
2. Perform the regular hand spa procedure while waiting for the wax
to melt and cool down to the tolerable temperature.
3. Apply more lotion to client’s hands.

4. Try and test the temperature of the wax for the heat tolerance of
the client. (Use your palm to test the appropriate temperature.)

5. Apply paraffin wax by dipping client’s hand into the melted wax for
4 seconds. Repeat three times. Take one hand at a time.
6. Wrap client’s hands with a plastic film or a cling wrap and mittens.
Let the paraffin wax to stay in place for 10-15 minutes.

7. Pull the mitten and plastic film/ cling wrap slowly to remove wax
completely.

8. Remove wax residue with cotton or tissue or as prescribed by the

manufacturer.
 9. Apply moisturizer or skin softening product to lock-in moisture and
leave the skin soft and smooth.

Paraffin wax treatment can help relieve pains and it is best for people who are
suffering from arthritis because it aids to loosen up hands and fingers, it also helps
remove some toxins from our body and revitalizes our hands. It allows protruding
veins to subside and avoid the growth of varicose veins. It aids the skin pores to close
and make the skin softer and smoother because of its soothing effect. By following
the correct procedure of giving paraffin wax treatment, it will give a good and
satisfying result to the treated hands.
