Topic: Online education as an imperative for institutions

Thesis Statement: New normal in education focused and encourage students and
teachers to learn, to teach and to do their assignments through online.
3 Sub-point: Online teaching and learning is going to be more regular and teachers
must be prepared to teach online. Online learning is not new. What is new is that
schools are embracing it as vital to how the next generation of learners are taught.

Body Paragraph #1:  A face-to-face learning experience can’t happen without proper
planning. Meaning, you need to enroll your student in school, and there needs to be
a teacher hired to teach. With online learning, though, a student can hop on to their
computer or mobile device at a moment’s notice. If they are curious about a
particular subject, they can watch a free YouTube video. Face-to-face learning
usually requires another individual - a teacher, instructor, professor, tutor, etc.
Students must also typically pass through some type of system or process in order
to move forward. In addition, if a child is in a classroom or group with other
individuals, it might be more difficult for them to receive personalized attention,
leading everyone to learn the same and follow the same path. With online learning,
you don’t have distractions of other people. Students can sit down and focus on
what’s in front of them. In face to face Students are encouraged to ask questions and
contribute their personal anecdotes and teacher stories throughout the class meetings.
Attendance in class is expected and reflected in class participation, reinforcing the
instructor’s belief in active learning. So, online learning here is where a student sits
down and learns through a self-paced system completely on their own.

success.

through innovative technologies. Technology can be a powerful tool for transforming
learning. It can help affirm and advance relationships between teachers and students,
reinvent our approaches to learning and collaboration, shrink long-standing equity and
accessibility gaps, and adapt learning experiences to meet the needs of all learners.
However, to realize fully the benefits of technology in our education system and provide
authentic learning experiences, educators need to use technology effectively in their
practice. It is necessary for learning to be possible in any environment because sadly,
learning with technology in the classroom is rare and one of the last places for
innovative technology can be reached and adopted. Fortunately, students and youth are
very curious about innovations around them and seem to find technology rather
fascinating, therefore can learn to use them effortlessly without the help of a teacher or
monitor. Learning can take place beyond the classroom and technology has not only
made it possible, but also made it easy and within reach. Smart kids can pick up both
academic and not-academic related information or skills easily because it has been
made available. This confirms that technology is not exactly harmful to students as
there are numerous to use it to their advantage. Students can research, share ideas,
collaborate and contribute to creating content, all done virtually.

Body Paragraph #3 It is not necessarily bad to push for online learning in the new
normal in education. It actually helps the education system to adopt effective and
efficient platforms and systems that can unburden teachers from much of their clerical
work so that they can focus on the essential aspects of teaching such as supporting and
building relationships with students. However, as we embark on this journey toward
embracing online learning, the school leaders and decision-makers should not forget
the students and families whom the current problems on equitable access and lack of
enough funding may put at a disadvantage. Every child has the right to high-quality
education. Our decision to move online should not make high-quality education a
privilege for those students who can access the Internet. As educators, our role is to
break down walls or barriers that prevent students from accessing and enjoying high-
quality education. Our attention right now is on online learning as a means to deliver
instruction to students who are at home. More importantly, the new normal in education
is calling us once more to review and meet other essential conditions that need to be
met before diving into teaching and learning. Education is not the work of teachers
alone. Collaboration and partnership play crucial roles in sustaining learning at this time
of the pandemic. Teachers, parents, school leaders, and external partners have to work
together to address the many challenging issues of remote learning. In the end,
collaboration makes life’s challenges not necessarily easier but more bearable. So, in
this new normal, let us always uphold the right to high-quality education by providing
multiple pathways to learning that can accommodate every student.
