As per clause 5.6.1.1 min. shell thickness for 40.72 meter Dia. Tank is 8 mm
We Provide Min.thk 8 mm
Hence provided thicknesses are safe
The minimum radial width of the annular plate at any point around the circumference of
the tank shall be either Aw1 or Aw2, Whichever is greater
Where
t bot = Thickness of the bottom shell course = 18 mm
A Proj

A lap
= Annular-Sketch lap = 50 mm
Wr= Minimum radial width between the inside of the shell and any lap-welded

Substituting,
Aw1 = 718 mm
Aw2 = 215 tb
(HG)0.5
Where
tb= Thickness of the annular plate in mm = 14 mm
H= Design Liquid level in m = 14 m
G= Design specific gravity of product = 1
Aw2 = 804.46 mm
Therefore the minimum radial width of annular plate at any point around the tank shell is

Calculating the sectional modulus provided for intermediate wind girder using
built up T-shape
Xg = ΣAx / ΣA = 11.34 cm
c = ΣLT - Xg = 15.46 cm
Ix =ΣIg + ΣAx² - [(ΣAx)²/ΣA] 11630 cm4
Zx = Ix / c = 752.01 cm³ > 675.0 cm³
H = Hg./2 2.42 m
Note: These wind pressure are based on a wind velocity of 160km/h (100mph). For wind velocities
other than 160km/h (100mph), the wind loads specified shall be adjusted in proportion of (V/160)².
Therefore:
Neglecting roof and any other misc. items attached to the shell (in the safe side)
shell wt. less any corrosion allowance , W = 1,693,606.5 N
2/3 of resisting moment (Mres) = 2/3(WD/2) = 22998046.8 N-m
> 3838294.5 N-m
Since overturning moment due to wind pressure < 2/3rd of resisting moment
tank is stable against wind load.Hence anchor bolt is not required under wind condtions

#)the minimum cross sectional area of the reinforcement shall not be less than the product of the
maximum dimension of the hole cut in the tank shell plate perpendicular to the direction of the maximum stress and the
required shell plate thickness, based on the permissible unit stress, the permissible joint efficiency and Corrosion
allowance, if specified. Shell plate thickness in excess of that actually required to retain and support the liquid content
for the specified load, exclusive of any thickness specified for corrosion allowance may be used as reinforcement area.
Joint efficiency is 1, shell corrosion allowance (CA) is 2 mm. Shell plate and reinforcement plate material are
