MODULE 2
THE TEACHING PROFESSION

COURSE TITLE : THE TEACHING PREOFESSION

COURSE CODE : PS 2

Name : CANTOR, CRISTOBAL M.

Course & Year : BSED III - F

APPLICATION/ACTIVITY

Activity I
Directions. Watch the videoclip which will be provided by the teacher. Comment on the performance of the
teacher based on her delivery of the lesson and on the principles of teaching and learning.

The teacher used my basic teaching principles where the concept of the lesson plan was applied to
his teaching or demonstration in such a video clip. She had the right greetings and introduction, she
motivated her students, she laid down the rules and regulations that should be followed within her class so
that there would be respect and collaboration in the class, and she used to give and take opportunity with
the children so that everyone participates well. Ma’am’s use of visual arts or instructional materials is a
great help for children especially at the elementary level because many children learn faster when they see
more examples or objects that describe what is being taught. Learning is more engaging for these children
of mine with the combined effort that teachers make and also motivates and appreciates children in this
way and increases the interest of children to study and learn in and out of class.

ASSESSMENT
A. Assessing your Learning.
Module 10: Quiz
ESSAY

Directions: Explain briefly the following questions.

1. Based on the discussion of this module, there are characteristics of an effective teacher. Enumerate and
explain other characteristics of an effective teacher that you have observed as your teacher executes the
lesson.
Students are treated and assessed equally by efficient teachers. Our mentor or teacher in this
subject is a very honest and open teacher who gives all students equal opportunity and privileges. Provide
specific criteria for this. Recognize that "fair" means giving every student a chance to succeed. Understand
that not all students learn the same way and at the same pace. Show an intimate contact. The most
successful teachers should be confronted. Connect with students directly, take a personal interest in
students and find out as much about them as possible. The best teachers are active and will respond to the
students' personal problems. Many accounts indicate how strongly and permanently they have been
affected by the compassion and compassion of diligent teachers. Get a sense of humor. Learning is not
taken seriously and is enjoyable by the most popular teachers. Using comedy to break the ice in difficult
conditions. Get the attitude in the classroom every day. I raced with a class, but never at any student's
disadvantage. This is how I describe our instructor in our subject "The Teaching Profession"

2. Can we measure the teaching effectiveness of a teacher in just one session of discussion? Yes or no?
Yes, we can measure how effective the teacher is in the first or just one discussion session,
because the teacher is associated with the knowledge to become a teacher as a profession. Although they
have their own majors but the qualities that the teacher possesses are just flowing through them as if they
are facing or taking on new challenges in their career or profession that they have sworn.

3. Is teaching an ART or SCIENCE? Elucidate a scenario/example to qualify your answer.

The opportunity to look at a student (young or old) to see where he/she is now and to encourage
them to learn more is a form of ART. One that not all of us have. You have to be prepared, if for a fleeting
moment, to look at the situation, to consider it, and then come up with a variety of ways to explain it to the
particular student while at the same time explaining it to hundreds of individual students. A creative
instructor can, at a whim, pause a lecture and turn the classroom upside down and make the class laugh
and not know that the learning process has never ceased. They will transform a car park into a forest of
trees that students can then continue to see through individual trees. In school, we term these results
"learning" because we want our students to understand. That's why we have meetings to address the
curriculum, the universal code, the norms, a lot more. If we find that our students do not follow the same
rigors that other students do, we do the experiment by offering standardized assessments. Some schools
have the exams, and some schools don't get the tests. This is considered the "Scientific Method". Teaching
can be seen as the art of using learning study to help students understand. Study and evidence-based
approaches make education more a science than an art. If a teacher wishes to teach with one or the other
may rely as much on their overall educational or teaching objectives as on their idea of teaching, he says.
The same can be said of modern and conservative instruction.

ENRICHMENT

Directions. Write your reflections on this module.

I have learned in this module that…

If you are concentrated and passionate enough to become a professional teacher, it will be a cake
for you to deal with these obstacles. Not only does a teaching career give you the ability to nourish the
leaders for tomorrow, it also lets you never stop learning. You must consider both the benefits and the
obstacles for following your career in teaching. Career teaching gives you the ability to encourage and
empower young people to create a sustainable future. It would be a smart idea to examine your attitude,
preferences and skills and be confident of yourself before you settle on being an instructor. You will require
the guidance of an expert career guide who will help you appreciate your true strengths and weaknesses.
Teaching as a discipline has been a major issue in our society. Academic culture needs to cultivate a sense
of professionalism in order to ease this concern. Teachers need to cultivate a balanced mindset and
approach by converting them into mature individuals.
