One word in the selection is accidental. Say it with
me: accidental. Follow the vocabulary routine.
1. Define: Something that is accidental happens for
no apparent reason and is unexpected. En español,
accidental quiere decir “accidental, que ocurre
sin razón aparente”. Accidental in English and
accidental in Spanish are cognates.
2. Example: Jason felt bad about the accidental
mess he made on the driveway. En español: Jason
se sintió mal por el desorden que causó de forma
accidental en la entrada al garaje.
3. Ask: What does the word accidental mean?
4. Now let’s look at a picture that demonstrates the
word accidental. (Point to the boy.) The boy made
an accidental mess on the driveway. He didn’t
mean to drop the eggs. It was accidental.
● Tell a partner about a time when you did
something that was accidental.
● I’m going to say some things. If each example is
accidental, say, “It is accidental.”

● Now let’s say accidental together three more
