36.VACUUM PUMPS

2. Procedure of test and confirmation item

In order to ensure satisfactory operation, various tests and checks to be carried out carefully.
A. Prior to the commissioning, following works to be checked.
a) Check whether the unit is suitably linked, and alignment between motor and vacuum pump.
b) Check the oil level (Front End Cover of pump).
c) Check the electric parts.
d) Check the fresh water system.
e) Check the Suction & Discharge line.
B. Safety device test
Check the safety device test (trip or alarms) shown on following pages
C.Running test
Before running test, following item to be confirmed.
a) Vacuum pump alignment
b) Rotation of driving motor
c) Installation condition of coupling and bulkhead seal
d) Fresh water system

How to test
1)
2) Disconnect the electric cable from the suction temperature switch.
3) Disconnect the electric cable from the discharge temperature switch.
4) Disconnect the electric cable from the cooling water flow switch.
5) Disconnect the electric cable from the pressure switch.
6) Disconnect the electric cable from motor.
7) Disconnect the electric cable from level switch.
