Activity 4. Discuss in your own words the differences of these three listening approaches and give your
life experiences while listening to your family, friends, or anybody. Pass in our GC on or before 2 pm
today.

The Persuasive listening , Directive listening , Attentive listening are the three listening approaches.
Persuasive listening approach is a of listening to a person or the speaker while not understanding on to
his/her point and your just waiting to enter and start and control the flow of the conversation. Just like
for example my mother talking me, yes I listened her thought but Im not absorving it, I just let it enter
with my left ear and pass out with my right ear. I just waited her to stop talking then I talked and
diverted his attention to my topic.

The Directive listening approach is a way of listening to the speajer at the same time
understanding his/her thought, but he/she just waiting some point where he/she can able to speak. The
tendency their is the speaker might lost his/her point about the topic because of being interrupted. Like
my sister, sometimes were talking about some serious things. It happened that, I listened and
understand her thought but then I was impatience to express my own thoughts, that's why replied her
in behalf of her talking.

Lastly the Attentive listening is a way of listening with the speaker with understanding, letting
the speaker to have enough time to speak before replying. Just for instance, my father and I sometime
we were having quality time with each other, when he was going to sent me to school. Were talking
because my father is slightly talkative. I let him to speak for the particular topic, and i listened and
understand him at the same time I formulated my ideas and opinion in order to replied him after
speaking.
