Job Description

We are seeking a self-starter with experience using effective organizational skills and technology
to manage business and information workflow. The position is the primary contact for our
accounts supported by our file management, print fulfillment, archival and collaboration
software. In short, the Product Specialist is responsible for optimizing the customer experience
by partnering with the customer to deliver quality results, improve business processes and
creatively solve problems.

The ideal candidate is a proven self-starter in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. He or


she is skilled at anticipating problems, creating contingency plans, and solving problems. Our

The Product Specialist must possess an understanding of project management, be IT centric and
a good communicator. Experience within the construction industry to develop client
requirements is a strong plus.

Responsibilities:

 Responsible for project planning and communicating project requirements and


deadlines

How would you help the team in performing this function? What projects have you worked on
what similar roles have you handled and what particular or similar responsibility were they that
are related to this role?

In my present role, among other responsibilities, I was responsible for the creation of full
scale project plans including Work Breakdown Structure, task estimates and tasks
dependencies. I assisted my PM with the tasks of communicating the requirements for the
projects and also deathliness. For example I will often times follow up with our vendors to
make sure tasks a completed on time and according to specifications. The was a time when
I had to come out with a checklist which I used to control all the closeouts from our
vendors and making sure each requirement is being met.

 Responsible for managing software integration with client’s work environment

Oh yes in the past, I have supported and provided services to our clients probably similar
to what you just mentioned. I will interface with our clients making sure that all client
requirements conform to specification.

This I was very successful in making sure that the client’s work environment meets the
standards of my company. I can remember a similar role when I had to follow up with our
external vendor to ensure that our systems which were deployed were easily integrated into
the clients system. This was a system upgrade project I worked on last November.
 Act as primary liaison between technical programmers and clients

Well as a project coordinator, I acted as a liaison between the developers, business analyst
PMs and other team members including external clients. I was assigned by my boss to act
as the person of contact between my team which consisted of programmers, Business
Analyst and other staff, with our clients. How did you achieve that? Well I did by
scheduling meetings with them on a weekly basis so I could provide them with updates on
the progress of the project. Also, my boss had requested that I send out invite to a client to
participate in a joint session with our Bas AND PROGRAMMERS. I was very flexible
doing this and I think my ability to multitask and the fact that I am an outstanding team
player, and result driven, helped me to be successful in this role.

 Communicate and consult with clients on best practices and methodologies for
information workflow, file management, print fulfillment and more

Well interfacing and communicating with our clients was very important and practical. In
one of my previous roles, I would work closely with our clients to ensure that all the best
practices for information workflow were understood and implemented. Also since we used
both agile and water flow methodologies depending on the project type, I will work with
the client to ensure that we are on the same page as regards to the best practices for these
methodologies and information workflow. Furthermore, I was also responsible for ensuring
that the appropriate file transfer and file management standards were communicated with
the client.

 Communicate and consult with clients on best practices and methodologies for smart and
cost effective use of construction planrooms

Oh thanks for that question, I remember a similar situation in the past were I had to
consult with and made sure the client was informed on the benefits of using a BDA instead
of a BTS solution. This from our stand point was because the BDA was very cost effective
produce the same effect as the BTS. Thus deploying a BDA would be of the best interest of
the costumer. At the end of the day, the customer agreed with my point and decided to
move with the BDA and our development team had it deployed for them.

 Responsible for tracking all aspects of assigned projects and maintaining accurate data
for profitability purposes

Qualifications

 Success organizing and managing complex projects


 Knowledge of construction industry and/or expert knowledge of collaboration software
 Knowledge of best practices and methodologies around information workflow
 Above average technical skill set; quick learner of new applications
 Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
 Must be detailed oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
 Must be a self-starter, able to handle pressure and deadlines
 Strong written and verbal communication skills
 Experience managing construction projects a plus
