WARNING

This PSA norm has been translated by the PSA Technical Discipline proprietor of this norm.
This document is available on-line in "Normes" Intranet (normes.inetpsa.com) as well as on the B2B portal
(suppliers and industrial partners).

This "Spécification Technique de Laboratoire" (STL) [Technical Laboratory Specification] is a document

compiled according to the principles of "Ingénierie des Systèmes Automobiles" (ISA) [Automotive Engineering
Systems], which groups together, for the system used for the product development tree structure, all the generic
requirements, to obtain consistency between all interested parties. The STL enables the Project team to compile the
corresponding Technical Specification (ST) by adapting the contents of the STL to the perimeter of the project.
Feedback from projects together with innovations and external requirements are elements which are used to
develop the STL.

PSA PEUGEOT - CITROËN
HYDRAULIC CLUTCH SHIFT CONTROL – ORGANIC MATERIALS REQUIREMENTS S23 1001 4/14

1.SCOPE
The aim of this laboratory technical specification (STL) is to define the materials and process requirements for parts
made out of organic materials (thermoplastic, thermoset, elastomer thermoplastic or vulcanized rubber, compact or
honeycombed), for material samples and for parts of hydraulic clutch shift controls. It complies with the standard
structure of the technical specification A13 030.
These material requirements on parts come in addition to the requirements on samples regarding the B62 0300
standard.
This document completes the technical specification B23 1220 & the CPPR of the purchased parts, where it has to
be referred to (in paragraph “quoted documents”) or with detailed requirements directly integrated in each
paragraph.
This technical specification applies to all parts of the perimeter hydraulic clutch shift controls delivered directly or via
a third to PSA
In addition to the usual addressees, all documents required in this specification must be transmitted to PSA’s
materials and process engineers who are part of the PSA project team as indicated in appendix 1.

2.FIELD OF APPLICATION
The requirements of this document are applicable to all parts made out of organic materials (thermoplastic,
thermoset, elastomer thermoplastic or rubber) for mechanical components of PSA Peugeot Citroen cars, except
paragraph 5.6.2 ‘Technical characteristic of parts”. These requirements must be achieved according to the rules
defined at the beginning of paragraph 5.6.2.

Foreword:
The list of the technical characteristics to be checked on parts must be built according to following rules:
1. Break the part down into elementary elements.
(Ex: Transmitter: body + piston + o-ring seal +….)
2. Meet each requirement of test chart below, except if the same type of test is required in the technical
specification of the part (functionnal drawing,ST, STN,etc…).

material processing The acceptance criteria for the porosity level
will be validated by the PSA material
department, considering the criticity of the
element (complexicity and mechanical
loading).
NOTA:
In any case, even if the component responds
to its function, the following defects are
unacceptable:
- Max porosity size = 500 µm
- More than 20% of the thickness affected by
porosities.
- Porosity shape too elongated (length /
width > 4)

the supplier must supply parts with an
internal integrity being better or at least
equivalent to the inegrity of the validation
parts.
