Company overview
Our company Got Ya Back is a company that produces color-changing bags with the vision
“Innovative design for a sustainable future”. Our company has the chameleon logo which
represents how the bags can change color quickly. The bag has a big target market, including
MUIDS students, teachers, and parents. So far, we have already had a net profit of
11755.4baht and our bag sold out within a few weeks. Our strategy is that we want to
produce products that everyone can use, so we decided to produce bags but adding more
creativity by producing color-changing bags. Within a few weeks, our bags sold out, so we
decided to reinvest in the company and sold some brooches. So far, our profit is unexpectedly
high and we are proud of this achievement.

Financial Statement of Activities
Our aim of the company was to produce profit and we did a great job to reach the break-even
point even though we have to suffer from the COVID-19 situation that pushed us into a hard
situation. We started a company with a capital of 34,700 baht and with that money we
ordered a bag, a total of 150bags and each bag will sell at the price of -299฿. In the first week,
the sales order was very high so we ran out of orders from the beginning, so we decided as a
company we will reinvest a new product. In the second week of work, we decided to buy a
key chain which the old customer can use with the bag they bought from us and in that week
our second stock product was out of order too.

Management discussion and analysis

Cost Benefits Analysis
Our company is planning to present an idea of the product which includes a face mask, bag,
and shirt. These 3 products have different advantages and disadvantages. However, some of
the products have more cons than pros. Due to budgetary reasons and usefulness, we choose
to go with the tote bag. The main reasons are the costs and the environmental concerns. The
rest of the products have high production costs and harm to the environment which are cloth
masks and shirts. Hence, we choose the bag as the product our company will produce.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
There are tons of stores which sell bags, but the color-changing concepts make us different.
Yet, they are still some competitors left. We opened our company inside MUIDS and mostly
sold all our products to MUIDS students, teachers, and their relatives so this cut out
competitors outside school. However, there is also another company which sells bags in our
school and targets the same group. They sell crossbody bags with sets of alcohol gel, soap, and
masks. To be specific, they sell products that are covid-19 protection-related. On the other
hand, our company sells a bigger size bag which comes with a higher price. Looking into
details, our school already provides alcohol gel all over the school, plus, there are soaps in the
school bathroom, and also there are masks sold in the school’s grocery store so cutting out the
school facilities provided, we are selling bag against bag. One big drawback is that we sell
bags that consider customers to pay a little more.

Marketing Strategy
Price

Order form
Design of the product ( color changing)

To complete the business goal, we need to settle a plan before doing our business to provide
our customers with a stunning service. Our company is producing a remarkable product
which is the color-changing bag with a flashy design that both sexes can use, and it has never
been done before in MUIDS. However, due to the color-changing product, expenses for the
product are also very high, which is why our first marketing plan is to make the price be as
cheap as possible. When the customers buy our product, we also have the order form to
confirm the money that they paid, and not only that we are the first brand in MUIDS that has
the order form, but we also have a refund system as well. If the customers are not pleased with
the product that they receive, they can always change their mind and return the product to
the company, and we are willing to return the full amount of money that they paid.

5
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
“Giving is not just about making a donation.
It is about making a difference.”

1. Got Ya Back creates Innovative Design

Our business motto is “Innovative design for a sustainable
future”. We aim for products that will stop global warming and
can be used among people in the Covid-19 situation. We then
came up with an idea of fresh products that can usually be seen
in our daily routine. A bag is the base product that we use to run
our operation. We attached a modern and unique function to
our bag, color-changing technology, which is predicted to
attract modern teenagers to observe our product. We also use a
portion of our profit to donate to the Ramathibodi Foundation
and Green peace.

2. Got Ya Back prevents Global Warming

We decided to use a bag because we believe that using it will
cause plastic bags to disappear. The plastic bags will be
replaced with a normal bag in the order to prevent non-
reusable trash that affects our world. As we mentioned before,
we include color-changing technology in our bags in order to
attract teenagers and support our idea of resisting plastic bags.

3. Got Ya Back for Ramathibodi Foundation

Ramathibodi Foundation is dominated by the first dean of
Ramathibodi Hospital’s Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr.Aree
Valyasevee, and the executive committee of the Faculty of
Medicine. The main purpose of the donation is to support
inefficient medical care for various patients and increasing
the opportunity for them to access medical treatments
regardless of their social status.

4. Got Ya Back for Greenpeace

Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organization that
deals with environmental problems through peaceful protest
and creative communication. Greenpeace's goal is to ensure
the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity.

6
Operation and Management

Embracing the design

1. Bag
The bag structure itself was inspired by the new protocol set by 7-11 where you have
to bring your own shopping bag instead of the plastic bag the store uses to provide.
Which is what sparked the design of the product. A tote bag that is deep enough to
carry tall bottles and also has a material that is durable enough for usability and to
withstand heavy groceries.
For the design, we incorporated the idea of positivity which matches with the
company’s name “Got Ya Back”, by incorporating a smiley face into the design
surrounded by illustrations to give it more dynamic.

2. Logo sticker
To illustrate the innovative function of the bag’s color-changing temperature design,
we were inspired by the animal “Chameleon”, which also changes its color. We then
surrounded the logo with the company’s name with cute fonts to tie the design
altogether.
7
Planning
1. Sticker
The selection process for the sticker company is by researching the cheapest and closest
printing company that produces high-quality stickers of our company’s logo. The sticker
will then be placed on every packaging to further advertise the brand.

Finding the material

In order for the bag to effectively deliver durability, the material must be strong
and lightweight. Therefore we chose canvas fabric for the materials of the bag.
Manufacturing
Finding the factory by asking classmates related questions. We found one factory
that can produce the bag the way we want with less cost.
Packaging

Control

To control the unlimited creativity and expectation, we must have a perfect

prototype as a production sample. As an operation strategy, it reflects the finalized
specifications.

Management

Calculate the product that should be produced

Manage to sell how much - goal - how much we sell - invest again

Got Ya Back production team decided that it was best to set our product goal to 150 bags.
With a large amount of consideration based on the production cost and the finance team
stating the product price. The production team believes that the first batch should include
only 150 bags as with this amount, Got Ya Back will be gaining profit without any doubt.
Since this was the first batch, Got Ya Back treated this as an experiment to see if people would
end up being one of our customers. This was an experimental batch that shows Got Ya Back
future directions and potentials.

Once all 150 bags from Got Ya Back were sold, we decided that it was best to invest in
something small related to our main product (colour changing bags). This time, we decided
to sell a total of 30 pins. With Got Ya Back potential and hard-working sellers, we could deal
all of the batches in no time. Since this investment was a huge success, Got Ya Back decided it
was best to reinvest one more time with the15 pins that we still received positive feedback and
sell all the products in no time. Got Ya Back has a good management department that plans
everything out well and has a strategy to sell our product. With all these benefits, we were
able to sell all of our products and receive an amount of profit.

8
Performance Improvement
Check QC
One of the downsides of our company was the QC part. As there were some problems with
the products, it took quite a while before we actually received them. The first product that we
received was not fully finished; therefore the production department could not check or
suggest the improvements. When the products finally came, it came as the whole batch
therefore it was a bit too late to do the QC checking. The moment we received the products,
we quickly checked a few bags. We look through them and see if they pass our standard or
not. There were some bags which the prints were not printed on properly and there were
some that there were some strands coming loose. Only if we had more time, we could fix on
that. Anyways, the issues were not big and it wasn’t that noticeable. It was only a minor
mistake therefore we could still give the products to our customers. In the end, the product
wasn't bad there's only some small parts that need to be fixed if we continue with this in the
future.

Future Potential
Plan
Create more products
Improvement
Bag that changes colour
Improvement
different kinds of bags style
Listen to response and look for improvement

Although, both our product sales are so successful, we have come to the conclusion of our
small business. However, if we were to reinvest, we would want to come up with another
product that is unique to our other previous ones and it also has to correspond to our
company's vision: innovative design for a sustainable future. We were thinking about selling
metal straws to encourage less use of plastic, non-recyclable straws. To add value to the bland
straws, we would design a packaging that is aesthetically pleasing and is easy to carry around.
Not only will we reinvest in new products, but we will be listening to customers preferences
and comments to improve our bags. With the comments, we may create a few more bags
style with the same prints to be able to widen our target customers. Comments can also
improve the quality of our bag and eventually lead to a big amount of satisfaction both from
the company and the customers itself.
