MELC: Area of Composite Figures

OBJECTIVE:

 find the area of composite figures formed by any two or more of the following: triangle,
square, rectangle circle, and semi-circle.

PRE-TEST
Directions: Find the area of each composite figure. Use a sheet of paper to answer this.

Directions: Find the area of the shaded region. Use a sheet of paper to answer this.
Use π = 3.14
Composite figure is a two-dimensional figure made up of basic twodimensional shapes such as
triangles, squares, rectangles, circle, semicircle, etc.

It is a shape which can be broken up into simpler parts. The area of a composite shape is found
by using the formula of the basic parts and adding or subtracting to find the total area.
