I. Introductory Concept

This learning activity sheet will help you learn and apply
knowledge and skills in visualizing, naming, describing and drawing
polygons with 5 or more sides. You just need to study the examples to
perform well on the given activities. Enjoy as you learn!

II. Learning Skills from the MELCs

LEARNING COMPETENCY: Visualizes, names, describes and draws

polygons with 5 or more sides
CODE: M5GE-IIIc-19

III. Activities

A polygon is a closed plane figure whose sides are line segments

that are joined together. The line segments are called sides of the
polygon. The point where two lines met which form an angle called
vertex (in plural form: vertices)
Polygons are classified according to the number of its sides.

PRACTICE TASK 1

DIRECTION: Match column A with its number of sides in column B. Write

your answer on the blank before each number.

A B
______1. Octagon A. 5 sides

______2. Nonagon B. 11 sides

______3. Pentagon C. 9 sides

______4. Undecagon D. 7 sides

______5. Heptagon E. 8 sides

F. 12 sides

PRACTICE TASK 2

DIRECTION: Write TRUE if the statement is correct and if it’s FALSE

change the underline word or group of words to make the statement correct.
Write your answer on the blank before each number.

__________1. A nonagon has eight sides.

__________2. A polygon is a closed plane figure whose sides are line segments
that are joined together.

__________3. A polygon with 12 angles is called undecagon.

__________4. A heptagon has six vertices.
