Activity 1: Defining Quality

“Noodles weaken memories”

Studies have shown that while some foods boost memory,


others actually increase risks for Alzheimer’s disease. I suddenly
remember when my mother always told me that noodles make our
memories weak that leads to a chronic illness such as heart disease,
stomach cancer and stroke. I am always terrified by those words thats
why i’m always scared to eat noodles such as Lucky Me! Pancit
Canton, but like everyone else, I grew up eating this forbidden pansit.
Lucky Me! Is one of the most popular instant noodle brand in the
Philippines ever since. On the other hand, Monde Nissin Corporation
is a Philippine-based company that manufactures noodles under the
brand of Lucky Me! Such as Pancit Canton. The target market of
Monde Nissin is about 4-50 years old, with social classes of AB, C D
& E. From kids, teens and to elders, Which means in general public.
However, I chose a commercial ad that I know everyone will relate
and a video that will be related to pandemic.

As I have discovered on the commercial video, Lucky Me Pancit


Canton are represented in the ready-to-eat noodles segment,

consumers’ convenience. It has been providing our Filipino
consumers with high quality yet affordable product that’s why its
popular to anyone due to its affordable price and excellent service.
But it does not simply providing Filipino consumers, especially now it’s
pandemic, it represents today our students and workers who are
struggling on their online classes and virtual meetings. The
commercial video clearly shows that the product facilitates the life of
people, it can be eaten anytime and anywhere, like the other food, it is
always there to make your stomach full despite of its being a
processed food.

But, since the branding is instant and convenient, it focuses less


on the nutrition content. We are all aware that this product is
positioned to address malnutrition and the product offering provides
healthy and nutritional contents despite being a processed and instant
food. Even so, the video is still not enough to stop anyone from eating
this due to it’s taste and convenience. Despite of being a processed
and instant food, some of the Filipinos treat this product as a comfort
zone. Like the girl in the video, due to overtime of study hours, she
had no time to cook her food. Nevertheless, there is Lucky Me pancit
Canton.

The main character on the commercial ad is a very great main


target throughout the video. Many of us are struggling like her, to the
point that we cannot manage our time. That even though noodles

weaken our memories, it is a very friendly to our stomach because its
affordability and the quality of being suitable.
