INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

At present, the Philippines is the only country in Asia and among the

three remaining countries in the world that uses a 10-year basic education

cycle. In this new normal, students in Fatima National High School experience

a hard time balancing the modular class since the pandemic(Covid-19)

appeared. Many students and their parents are against this strenuous

educational system. But somehow, many parents are agreed with this

platform for as long as their children can gain something.

According to Department of Education (31st of July), Data from Learner

Enrolment and Survey Form (LESF) showed that 8.8 million parents preferred

modular, over the 3.9 million who voted for blended learning, which is a

combination of different modalities: module, television and radio or radio with

online. Many students in private schools transferred in Fatima National High

School due to the young people cannot cope with the private school

educational system. “We are grateful to all parents who participated in the

survey and expressed support to DepEd’s Learning Continuity Plan. Let us

allow our learners to continue learning while we protect their health and well-

being,” the DepEd said.

It’s clear that many high school students with a certain level of

interactive technology embraced, but at the same time continually demanding

more to fulfil their diversified needs of learning. Embrace the technology

demands of their own class. According to the curve can be applied to today's

1
generation of time university use technology every day and classes. The real

challenge faced by university students is that higher inculcation is different

from school and students cannot expect spoon-feeding. Increasingly, high

school heads are keen to verbalize about a partnership between institution

and students.

2
Statement of the Problem

This study was designed to determine the effectiveness of modular

approach to the academic performance of Fatima National High School who

was exposed to the usual lecture method and using modules in teaching word

problem solving.

Specifically it sought to answer the following questions:

1. Does the implementation of school drive-thru module distribution

lessen the burden of students and parents?

2. What do parents react to this kind of implementation?

3. Does the Implementation have benefits to the parents?

Purpose of the Study

The purpose of this study is to awaken every student and parent

that they should be aware of any educational system used for the learning of

the individual. Also to motivate their children that they should be responsible

in terms of their modular class system, hard works and teaching can help their

children to achieve their dream.

3
Significant of the Study

The result of the study will be of great benefit to the following:

To the Teachers. The given data would guide the teachers on what to do if

any student didn’t finish their activities. The teachers would be able to

understand student tardiness, help them to motivate.

To the Parents. Like the teachers, the parents too will understand why

student are come very lazy doing their modules, through the given data. The

given data would help them formulate some preventive measures to help their

sons/daughters motivated. The findings would also help them learn the

actions of their children.

Scope and Limitations of the Study

This study is limited to the identification of strengths,

opportunities, and challenges of each student in Fatima National High School.

Many student and parent that will be subjected to the study and to ensure the

reliability of the respondents and the information that will be provided by them.

It reflects how each student started and how to educate themselves by

modular class and what is the perception of their parent.

The study was conducted January 2021.

CHAPTER II

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

The general objective of this part was to manage the

connected writing and investigations of this exploration study. The

writing and studies referred to in this section filled in as the

researchers guide in building up the venture.

Method of Drive-Thru Implementation

To guarantee the security of the two instructors and understudies, the

Department of Education (DepEd) said its territorial workplaces (ROs) and

school division workplaces (SDOs) have contextualized the method of

conveyance of the Self-Learning Modules (SLMs) to be utilized this

forthcoming school year. As per Revsee Escobedo., (2020). DepEd

undersecretary that ROs and SDOs set up wellbeing and security conventions

in front of the Oct. 5 school opening. The provincial workplaces and school

division workplaces "direct of sanitization of learning materials earlier bundling

and dissemination" and fashion "more grounded associations with barangay

boards that will help in encouraging the circulation and recovery of modules to

their separate barangays". Additionally, Revsee Escobedo., (2020). given

memoranda on reinforced administration and reaction to COVID-19 and the

usage of elective work plans taking all things together degrees of

administration. Beside the definition of the Contingency Plan for COVID-19

pandemic, he noticed the "incorporation of COVID-19 conventions and other

5
wellbeing related updates in students' bundle units". Learning modalities per

SDO are conveyed in various techniques – relying upon openness and

COVID-19 Risk Severity Classification of the zones in the divisions. With

regards to the situation with printing of modules, Escobedo noticed that seven

locales including Regions I, II, IV-A, IX, X, XIII and the NCR as in the

"Progressed" stage wherein SDOs are in "80%-100% phase of SLM printing."

There are six areas including Regions III, IV-B, V, VII, VIII, and XII that are in

the "Advancing" stage where SDOs are in the half 79% stake in SLM printing,

Reeves Escobedo., (2020) noticed that four districts including Regions VI, XI,

XIII and CAR are in the "Getting up to speed" stage wherein SDOs are in the

25%-49% phase of SLM printing. Then, he clarified that there are four out of

the 214 SDOs that are "Lingering Behind" with 0%-24% phase of SLM

printing.

In view of Allen Estabillo., (2020). Government funded schools in General

Santos City have the quickest followed dissemination of learning modules and

related materials, it has more than 154,000 students in anticipation of the

kickoff of classes on October 5, 2020. This, as the Department of Education

(DepEd) city division guaranteed on Wednesday that neighborhood schools

are currently prepared for the impending school opening regardless of the

expanding instances of Covid sickness 2019 (Covid-19) nearby transmission.

As per Romelito Flores., (2020). DepEd city division administrator said the

appropriation of modules is continuous from rudimentary to senior secondary

school levels on the whole government funded schools in the city's 26

barangays. They are focusing to finish them before the initial classes to permit

6
the students to quick beginning with their exercises to restrict the openness of

guardians in school and other dispersion locales. The authority said nearby

schools have embraced different procedures and framework to carefully

conform to the "no contact strategy" in the circulation of modules as a piece of

the Coronavirus conventions. For examples, two schools actualized a "drive-

through framework" wherein guardians would recover the modules while

inside their vehicles from an assigned counter inside the grounds. The

relegated educators have likewise finished their arrangements for different

modalities, particularly the on the web and mixed learning.

Review of Related Studies

A few schools put the modules on seats arranged inside colossal

covered zones and permitted guardians to get them by plan, another school

employed labourers utilizing its own working assets and allotted them to direct

door to door conveyances for modules, including the barangay authorities and

purok pioneers have been helping the appropriation of the modules by

ensuring that the recorded beneficiaries will get them, additionally the DepEd

city division office doled out groups to screen the arrivals of the modules and

distinguish those have not yet gotten the modules. The initiation of hotlines to

address issues with the appropriation cycle before the beginning of the proper

classes and for the other learning modes radio-based guidance and TV based

learning. The regional government had allotted around PHP150 million as

help to state funded schools nearby for the usage of the elective learning

modes this school year during the Covid-19 pandemic. The assets were

7
explicitly reserved for the creation of learning modules, acquisition of

important supplies and hardware, and correspondence uphold instructors.

Related Studies

To ensure that learning stays unrestricted, DepEd will execute a

distance learning approach – a learning conveyance mode where association

happens between the instructor and the understudies who are geologically far

off from one another during guidance. This implies exercises will be conveyed

outside the customary eye to eye arrangement.

As innovation and web availability stay an issue for most understudies, DepEd

will give printed module materials to them.

Training Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio (2020). said that just about 13

million state funded school understudies or 59% of around 22 million enrollees

this year will utilize printed modules. That would require felling a huge number

of trees to create paper.

To give you a thought, Senator Ralph Recto (2020). a financial analyst

assessed that 93.6 billion pages of learning modules for a great many

government funded school understudies will be required only for one full

scholarly year.

8
In a virtual press preparation on Monday, September 21, Education

Undersecretary Anne Sevilla said that understudies may need to share

modules by one year from now on the grounds that there are not sufficient

assets to duplicate learning materials.

Conceptual Framework

In this study the independent variable was the Implementation of

Drive thru modular distribution and the dependent variable was the Method of

Drive thru Implementation, since that, this study expected to determine if the

Implementation of Drive thru Modular Distribution affect the method of drive

thru implementation.

CHAPTER V

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECCOMENDATIONS

This chapter presents a summary6 of finding, conclusions, and the

corresponding recommendations of the study.

Summary of Findings

This study aimed to find out the Rate and Perception of Parents

towards the implementation of Fatima National High School drive-thru module

distribution.

Specially, the researchers aimed sought the answer to the following

sub-problems:

1. Does the implementation of school drive-thru module distribution

lessen the burden of students and parents?

2. How do parents react to this kind of implementation?

3. Does the Implementation have benefits to the parents?

These researchers utilized the descriptive-correlation. A questionnaire

was used to gather data composing of two parts: the level of perceptions

of the parents towards drive-thru implementation comprising of 10 items in

all. This research uses social media platforms and questionnaires in

conducting the survey. The researchers use an online survey to conduct

questionnaires to the parents who have experience drive-thru

implementations and school protocols will be gathered. The researchers

looked for information about their perception and opinions about the drive-

18
thru module distribution. The researchers distribute the questionnaires

online to the parents who experience this drive-thru module distribution.

The respondents of this study were 50 selected parents from Fatima

National High School year 2020-2021.

The findings are as the following:

1. The overall weighted mean of the Rate and Perception of parents

towards the implementation of Fatima National High School drive-

thru module distribution is 32.3 describe as totally agree,

implementation of School drive-thru module distribution lessens the

burden of students and parents (3.56), the Implementation lacks of

Preparedness (3.24), the Implementation was beneficial to the

parents (3.22), the Implementation of drive-thru distribution sufficed

the difficulties in regards to academic (3.14), Picking up the

modules in school costs too much (3.14), the teachers and guards

are accommodating (3.34), I was satisfied about the implemented

drive-thru distribution (3.18), there are aspects of the

implementation that I think should be improved (3.4), schedules of

picking modules are helpful (3.28), the implementation does follow

the proper protocol that was implemented by the city government

(2.7).

2. The compute R-value is 1, while P-value is 0.032931102 which

describe as less that the level of significant at .05. The null

19
hypothesis which states that “The Implementation of Drive Thru

Distribution has no significant effect on the Methods of Drive thru

Implementation” is rejected. This means that the implementations of

Drive-thru module distribution is significant.

Conclusion

Considering the inferred discoveries, the accompanying conclusion

were made:

1. The level of Implementation of Drive Thru Module Distributing

among its Method, is that Drive Thru Implementation could

lessen the problem of the parents in getting the modules. Also, it

will be beneficial during this pandemic while applying social

distancing to avoid any interaction.

2. The Methods of Drive Thru Implementation could give parents

awareness about it. Since some of the students are enrolled in

modular class it is remarkably effective in receiving modules.

3. The null hypothesis is dismissed as a result of the findings, and

it is concluded that there is a substantial relationship between

Implementation of Drive Thru Module Distribution and Method of

Drive Thru Implementation. Implementing drive thru module

distribution help its method to the parents of the students in

Fatima National High School.

20
Recommendation

The review of results and conclusion led to significant recommendation.

1. The parents must follow the proper protocol while using the Drive Thru

Module Distribution. It’s necessary to follow the proper protocol for the

reason of this pandemic.

2. The faculty must orient the parents about the Implementation, also, the

students for them to guide their parents what to do.

3. Parents and Students must be patient and understandable about

receiving the modules.

4. The school staff must organize the areas to avoid complicated scenery

on distributing the modules. Also, the modules must be sanitized first to

avoid any complication.

5. Expanding on this research with a broader scope and delimitation, a

group of respondents and various research area for a potential

implementation.
