Lingua Franca
English is the current language that dominates over 100 countries in the world as it is the
most widely taught, most favored, and most used due to widespread of highly influential
television shows, film, music, and internet content. Retrospectives of reoccurring generations
identifies English as an apt symbol for themes of progress, diversification, and globalization---
not only these but it is significantly indicated by international treaty that the official language for
aeronautical and maritime communications is the aforementioned language. A number of 193
countries are current members of the United Nations which utilizes English as its official path to
communication, even internal organizations such as the International Olympic Committee is
required to imply such. Because of these reasons, it is evident that the presiding language for
communication is led by English through majority of users in reaching the audience on platforms
of advantageous social media resources. If not for English as the lingua franca, barriers may
occur, globally; since communication is the most essential quality in maintaining peace and
understanding amongst parties present in countries. This language is not only enclosed for
speaking purposes, but it also extends to literature as it gives meaning to the reader’s
comprehension. Acquiring knowledge as to how the current world proceeds with what the past
has been dogmatic to, will be accommodating in future texts since it is basis on how the present
should act.
The extensiveness of using a certain language which is always applied on either the news,
public signages, advertisements, restaurant menus, manuals, and other public places with
plastered directions, these are some of the reasons for the prominent lingo to be recognized
globally. To put it simply, a global language harmonizes people through its developed role that is
recognized by the public. In order to achieve status to be known as a global language, it should
first be known as a medium of communication in massive domains such as the educational
system, written law and court practice, and the government. Another way is through
implementing a language that can be taken as priority in the educational system’s foreign-
language teaching in order for the younger generation to have grasp of it. Also, in generating a
global language, considerations with big impacts are for political expediency, historical tradition,
cultural contact, and well-supported resources such as libraries, telecommunications, tapes, and
alike teaching materials that are increasingly available.
Transferring of information to produce greater understanding is one of the
objectives of communication. Why a global language is present if for the masses to have
standard and knowledge as to how the world continuously operates. Being able to have known a
language that would set as every other native foreigner will be advantageous in forms of social
belongingness and sense of community. Take in example, normally, in airports, a place wherein
various nationalities come together, the visible way to know where to go is through arrows with
English words beside them--- this is one noticeable power of the dominating language, even
when regardless of citizenship there is still comprehension. Language is supposedly an image of
status within the worldwide society since of the seen image attached to it. For instance,
somebody who talks with complicated English with an accent will give off the conversation of a
well taught individual, someone who talks generally in slang with many grammatical errors will
provide off the inverse discuss. As we connect the picture of the other person, dressed to the
nines in white and brand names and such, to a social standing, and we connect a voice (or a way
of talking) to that picture, we see the way in which somebody talks as an insight to their social
status.
As mentioned in the first paragraph, extension of adapting the language is not only
through the manner of speaking as it widely affects literature as well. There are three
communicative ways for humans which are mainly through verbal, nonverbal, or written word.
At this point in time, writing is the most used activity today, it comes from email blasts, updates,
reports. Globally effective communication through writing depends upon the platform to express
on. To expound, formality is needed in a business setting while less conventionalism is induced
at social media outlets. Effective writing includes elements such as word choice, punctuation,
syntax, and style--- however the idea introduced is the most crucial since it comprises of the
main organized function of the message as to what the words convey. In order to communicate
effectively, the mentioned qualities should be present, moreover, in a global world, there should
always be an active reminder that English is not the only language, therefore customary
acknowledgement of other countries would provide them importance. Another thing to
remember is recognition as to who the writing is to be sent to in order to properly address the
person. Lastly, the power of words is strong; it would either leave a mark or be a cascaded stone
in sand
A vessel to connect distant lands with varying roots is how important English, as the
Global language is. Availability of books, newspapers, magazines, literature as is are
continuously increasing around the world. a global language is present for the masses to have
standard and act as basis of knowledge as to how everything operates--- because the function of
this global language harmonizes people through its developed role that is recognized by the
public. As result of having know that a global language is something that is utilized in our daily
living by the majority and knowing why such global language exists; the outcome would be the
proper implementation through effective communication globally, it would reach faraway
countries---but it would feel near because of the medium, which is English.
