Collaborates with the home, school, and larger communities to foster communication and to
support student learning and continuous improvement. The artifact has been redacted to protect
the privacy of the students and teachers at my internship placement but illustrates my assistance
that was provided to my cooperating teacher with regards to parent teacher conferences. Many of
our students have parents that are not bilingual, and my CT is able to speak Spanish but preferred
that I assist to ensure that all parts of the communication were correct. My assistance with these
calls allowed me to connect with my student’s parents and create dialogue that was focused on
The artifact that follows demonstrates my collaboration with the school, specifically the
2nd grade teachers and the school’s math coach. The artifact lists the standards that were included
on the midterm unit assessment and provided the overall class scores of each teacher in 2nd grade.

The artifact also provides the score average of the whole 2nd grade and the district average to
allow the teachers to determine how their class did compared to the 2nd grade and district. During
this professional learning community (PLC) meeting, the conversation was rooted in
understanding the gaps in students learning and defining how to address these gaps so that the
students can achieve mastery. I underlined my CT’s scores and those of the district and 2nd grade
for comparison. With this information, my CT and I were able to create a plan to include math
reviews each day based on a specific standard as well as review homework from the Envision
workbooks.
