GRAMMAR
In today's lesson, we learned that to form regular verbs in all three conjugations (the first, second and
third), all we need to do is remove the ending from the infinitive and add the personal ending for each
verb.

We also learned that the only two places in which the third conjugation differs from the second are in
the first and second persons in the plural.

Below, you'll find the three paradigms that we covered for today, one from each conjugation.

First Conjugation: amar (to love)

CULTURAL INSIGHT

SPANISHPOD101.COM VERB CONJUGATION #3 3

In today's lesson, we looked at the Present Tense of the Indicative Mood, when it's used to express
truths that aren't bound by time. A common example of this usage comes up in mathematics equations.
For example, "un triángulo tiene tres lados (a triangle has three sides), where "tiene" (has) is the verb
we're concerned with. Now, it's important to remember that the Present Tense has many other usages
as well. In this lesson, we've begun with the simplest usage. As we continue with this series, we'll study
the other usages of the Present, as well as those of other tenses.
