Replacing Fuses

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! The electrical system may be damaged if incorrect replacement fuses are used.
Replace the bad fuse with a fuse of the same amp rating.

1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the SAFETY section.)

2. Raise lever (A) and lower fuse block access door.

3. Fuse identification:

1 Ignition Switch 30 amp
2 Hydraulic Option Power 20 amp
3 Lighting Power 30 amp
4 Brake Lights 10 amp
5 Ignition Run Power 20 amp
6 Fuel Pump 10 amp
7 Rear Work Lights (option) 20 amp
8 Front Work Lights 20 amp
9 Tail Lights 10 amp
10 Transmission Controls 10 amp
11 Calibration Fuse Holder Position 10 amp
12 Force Calibration Position Open

4. Pull defective fuse from socket.

5. Push new fuse into socket.

6. Close fuse block access door.

NOTE: Do not install a fuse into fuse position twelve shown above. Installing a fuse into this position will
disable the transmission.

Fault Code Sources

MX17769

MX32366

Ground Speed Sensor (A) - Located on left side of rear differential near suction screen.
Throttle Position Potentiometer (B) - Located behind right side panel.

Suction side filter may need replacement.
Operation Sluggish, Slow Low hydraulic oil temperature.
Hydraulic system operating at or near relief pressure.

Suction side filter may need replacement.


Poor Hydraulic Performance
Operating over relief pressure.

Engine speed too slow.


Excessive Machine Vibration
Loose wheel hardware.

Park brake locked.


Drive pedals depressed at same time.
Operator not on seat.
Transmission oil level low.
Machine Will Not Move With Transmission oil cold - allow engine to warm.
Engine Running Transmission range shift lever in neutral position.
Suction side filter may need replacement.
Drive pedal potentiometer(s) out of adjustment or
defective. See your John Deere Dealer.
Fuse installed in fuse block position 12.

Low oil level.


Rate of drop valve closed.
Excessive load on hitch.
3-point Hitch Fails To Lift
Hydraulic oil too cold.
Hydraulic oil suction screen clogged.
Backhoe presence switch malfunction.

Suction side filter may need replacement.


3-point Hitch Lifts Slowly
Engine idle speed too slow

3-point Hitch Drops Slowly Or Rate-of-drop valve closed.


Does Not Drop Rate-of-drop valve set too slowly.

Rate-of-drop set too fast.


3-point Hitch Drops Too Fast
Load too heavy.

Low oil level in reservoir.


Low Hydrostatic Charge Plugged suction filter.
Pressure Weak steering pump.
Malfunction of charge pressure relief.

Oil level low.


Extremely cold outside air temperature.
Incorrect oil viscosity - replace oil and filter.
Noisy System Pump
Suction line plugged/filter dirty.
Reservoir air vent cap plugged.
Air leaks at pump inlet line fittings.
Plugged inlet line.
Low oil level in reservoir.
Air leaks at pump inlet line and fittings.
Low System Pump Oil Flow,
Pump worn.
Under Pressure
Dirty or damaged relief valve.
Relief valve partially opened. See your John Deere
Dealer.

Plugged inlet line.


Bad relief valve. See your John Deere Dealer.
Worn hydraulic pump. See your John Deere Dealer.
No System Pressure
Internal leakage in control valve or cylinder. See your
John Deere Dealer.
Damaged pump drive.

Machine Creeps Forward Or Proportional drive valves leaking. See your John Deere
Reverse Dealer.
