Instructions/Procedures:
Introduction Time
Begin the class by letting students know what we will be doing…
o We will be learning all about bunnies this week- today we are
going to create a chart about things we know about rabbits and
then start working on our own books!
Ask students- if they have every seen a bunny, can they show with a
10 min
silent hand… Once Ss put their hands up recognize how common it is to
see bunnies, they are very popular and lots of them live around us!
Begin by watching the short video all about bunnies- tell students to
listen for things that bunnies can do, things they are, and things they
have!
Body Time
Chart and Book Once we watch the video, have students share
some thoughts/ideas to fill the chart- aim for
about 8-9 kids today. Let them know we will add
more on Thursday, so if they don’t get a turn, not
to worry!
Once we fill the chart have students do a quick
body break before reading the book- it can be the
bunny one, or one from the website
18 min
After the body break bring students back to read
the book- use the document camera so they can
see their pages
Their job today will just be to colour the cover-
they need to also put their name! Ss should form
a thank-you line to collect their materials.
When they are done, they can do puzzles or
stories
Conclusion Time
2
Before concluding, tell Ss that we will finish up with our books over
the next couple of days- tomorrow we will read a new story about 2 min
bunnies!
Assessment:
Assess fine motor skills by looking at their colouring- make sure to let students know that
they need to do their best kinder colouring in their book!!
You could also assess W1- I can learn at school to see their attention to detail and
engagement in the activities
EC3- Can, Have, Are chart- did they participate?
Teacher Notes:
Make sure to read the book with them and add words for them to read as you go through
it!
Reflection: How did the lesson go? Is there anything you would do differently next time? What
worked well/ not so well?
