Dear Students of Section 01,

Hope you are doing great! Here is the guideline for completing your graded assignment of MGT
201 . This is applicable for section 01 only.

Each one of you have been allocated a company for this assignment. Prepare your video
presentation based on the following topic focusing the company which has been allocated to you.
Remember this is an individual assignment.

Format of the Assignment:

You need to do a video presentation where you will show your face and voice should be cleared.
Language must be in English. Make sure to dress up appropriately (it does not necessarily mean
you need to wear suit or saree, be presentable)

Video Making: You can use your mobile phone/zoom/google meet/any other application as per
your convenient to do the video recording. However, a clear voice and showing your face is
mandatory in the video. Do not walk or constantly move during the recording. Sit or stand at one
place and do the recording. I am not concerned about the background. Your content and the way
you are presenting the information matter the most.

Duration of the Record: The timing of your video presentation should be between 2-5 minutes.
You cannot exceed the maximum time. Also, you need to give presentation at least for 2 minutes

Way of Submission:

1. Date: 17th Novmber, 2020

2. Time: by 9:00 PM
3. Through: email (mayesha.tasnim@bracu.ac.bd). You MUST send your video presentation
using your GSUITE email id. Otherwise your presentation will be discarded and you will
not receive any marks
4. Save your File name: Your name _ ID_company name_section. For example: Mayesha
Tasnim_1234543_BracU_01
5. Email Subject: MGT201_Graded Assignment_ Your ID_Name_section
6. Write a professional email body (Must)
7. If you cannot attach the video file in email, upload the file in google drive or YouTube.
Copy the google drive link or YouTube link and attach the link in the email. Make sure to
save the video link with proper name.

Late submission policy:

You are given more than enough time to prepare the assignment, so excuses like failure to
submit the assignment on time because of internet connectivity and electricity issues will not
be entertained. For your own interest, I will strongly suggest that, do not wait for the last
moment to submit your assignment.

Marks Deduction Policy Reason

1 mark For not writing the correct email subject

1 mark For not saving the file in correct manner

1 mark For not writing a professional body

1.5 mark For 30 minutes delay in submission

2 marks For 40 minutes delay in submission

2.5 marks For 50 minutes delay in submission

3 marks For 60 minutes delay in submission

No submissions after 60 minutes of the given deadline will be considered.

Graded Assignment Details :

You have learned about Big Data in chapter 1. Do some extensive research (online/offline- as per
your understanding) on “Big Data” and prepare a video presentation.

Topic : How big data can help to improve the performance of your allocated
company? (see below)- (Performance can be overall / focusing one or two specific
department of the company / any specific sector or company from a group of
companies – as per your choice, no restriction on that) . As a manager how can you
use big data to ensure the productivity of the your organization?

Your video should cover the following content:

1. What is your understanding on Big data? (Do not make it too lengthy. Briefly describe
your understanding. Not more than 6 lines/sentences)
2. Short description of your allocated company (Do not say too much. 3-6 sentences/lines
should be fine.)
3. How big data can improve company’s performance/productivity (overall or one/two
specific department/ one company from a group of companies) (Be specific, don’t say
generic opinion)
4. Do you think only big data can give solutions or as a manager you need more to take
decision for your allocated company? If so what are those things as per your
understanding (This part should be backed up with specific logic and proper evidence
from your extensive research and what have you learned in chapter 1 )

Your presentation must reflect that you have conducted a thorough research about the overall
company, its current situation on big data aspect and how big data can play a significant role in
improving the company’s situation.

Do not mention generic points in the video presentation. Do necessary company background study
in preparing your answers. You can take help from any credible online and offline source in
preparing your answers. Your marks will depend on how rich your contents are and how well and
uniquely you have explained in the recording.
