A cable for conductor has responsiblity for moving
electricity, energy, or signal from one point to
another

The conductor locted at the centre of the cable

3
Metal are generall conductor, for example: Ag, Cu, Al, Ni, Sn

Al: use in wide range project

Dr. Ir. Paula Santi Rudati

4
Cu: high conductivity, unexpensive, high corrosion

Dr. Ir. Paula Santi Rudati

5
Cu plated by Sn: protect the Cu from corrosion at high
temperature, and easy to re-solder than bare Cu.

Dr. Ir. Paula Santi Rudati

6
Ag: high conductivity, high price
Silver plated : less price, high conductivity, wide range
temperature use -65°C until 200°C, for aerospace application

Dr. Ir. Paula Santi Rudati

7
Nickel: corrosion resistance, used up to 750°C

Dr. Ir. Paula Santi Rudati

8
Cable configuration: Solid or Stranded

Solid Stranded
1 piece metal Several pieces
metal
Less expensive Little more
expensive
Mechanically
taugh
Less flexible More felxible
High stranded countable : High cost
+ better flexibelity
