Q1: You are the manager in the accounting department of Attock Cement Limited. The paper shredder
of your department has been causing problems because it is used so much.

Requirement:

Write a memo to the manager of the procurement department explaining the problem and requesting
him to procure a new, heavy- duty paper shredder. Provide a rationale for the expense. (7 marks)

Q2: You are the head of an NGO which is working for raising the standard of education in
underprivileged areas of your city. Your organization is facing the paucity of funds to pay the salaries of
the teachers and to run day to day activities.

Requirement:

Write a persuasive letter to the CEO of XYZ Company Limited requesting him to donate Rs. 200,000.
Substantiate your request by providing valid reasons. Use full block format and open punctuated style in
your letter. (8 marks)

Q3: Zaid has been working in the finance department of ABC Company Limited for 5 months. His
probationary period is going to finish next month. The GM Finance is not satisfied with his overall
performance and informs you to issue a letter to Mr. Zaid clearly informing him that his services are not
required.

Requirement:

As a GM HR of ABC Company Limited, write a termination letter stating the bad news. Use indirect
strategy in your letter. Use full block format and closed punctuated style in your letter. (10 marks)
