Instructions:
1. The TEE take-home assignment upload schedule is 3rd December 2020, 12.00 pm. The submission
deadline is 4th December 2020, from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.
2. Students should adhere to the given timeline of submission. No extension will be given.
3. The assignment is uploaded on MS Teams. The submission needs to be uploaded on MS teams
along with an email to the faculty to ensure no gap in communication.
4. Students should submit only typed answers in Word/Powerpoint document.
5. The documents must be checked for plagiarism via Turnitin before submission. Turnitin report
should be part of your submission.
6. For hashcode generation, create one single Word file - PowerPoint or any other working content
can be imported to this Word file. Create a cover page with your name and SAP ID. The file can
then be converted into a pdf for hashcode generation. The ‘exam pdf file’ should be submitted on
MS Teams corresponding with the Quickhash code generated and shared.
7. All questions are compulsory.

Q.1) Read the attached case “Hiring a Star Performer” and answer the questions given below:
Shantanu Kumar, research director at J. M. Financial (JMF), is faced with the challenge of
replacing a star semiconductor analyst, Anuj Sethi. Each of the four potential candidates
possesses specific critical skills, experiences, and relationships—and lacks others. Annexure 1
describes a snapshot of the human-capital theory, which may be used to determine what factors
are responsible for outstanding performance and, therefore, how portable such performance is
from one environment to the next.
a) Analyse the case and evaluate each candidate basis the five different human capital categories:
general, strategic, industry, relationship, and company specific. (10 marks)
b) Whom should Shantanu Kumar hire? Why? (5 marks)
c) Imagine yourself as a potential candidate. What strengths would you bring to light during the
interview with Shantanu? How would you distinguish yourself from the other candidates?

Q.2) You are preparing for your dream job, and you have two days to go to prepare for the selection
process, which will include a GD and an interview. Today you are working on your GD
preparation. Your best friend calls up, and he advises you that given the current scenario, you
should prepare for the topic: “Online education, work from home: Have we arrived in the
virtual world?”. Prepare a dossier on this topic touching upon the various possible facets of
this topic, creating a discussion outline with a brilliant introduction and an intense conclusion.

Q.3) You are the President of the Department of International Linkages (DIL) at NMIMS, Navi
Mumbai. You are keen on attracting students from foreign universities to your campus through
your student exchange program. For the same, you need to prepare a presentation for the
potential foreign exchange students highlighting the USP of NMIMS Navi Mumbai and how
the exchange can be an enriching experience for them. Prepare a 10-12 slide PowerPoint
presentation which will achieve the desired objective. TOTAL MARKS = 10
