THE TEACHER

REFLECTION: Answer the following questions.

1. Reflect on the Personal Attributes of a Professional Teacher. Which of these do you have? Don't have? Any personal
plan for your growth.

- One of the personal attributes of a teacher that I have is the Fairness and Impartiality. For me as a future educator, this
is one of the most important attribute that a teacher should possess. Students who feel that there's a fair game excel more in the
class. They are being more competitive and excited to go to class. I remember when I was teaching on a summer pre kindergarten
program wherein I am a Sub teacher, I teach incoming grade 1 student and there is one PWD student. For me with no professional
knowledge on teaching, it is really hard to educate that kind of student, but the passion or love of imparting knowledge, I teach that
kid the same way I teach others. I help her to easily understand the lesson. It really tested my patience but seeing her excel and
really motivated on studying makes me happy and there's something on me that I felt fulfilled. For growth, I think I will still study.
Keep on learning new things and to become more compassionate person towards other.

2. Surf the Internet for at least 5 inspirational quotes for teachers. Reflect on them. This should form part of your
collection/portfolio.

2.1 If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate
people. - Chinese Proverb

This proverb has the same message with the inspirational message of teaching a person how to catch fish. This simply means that,
education can be lifetime. Education cannot be steal by anyone, and it can only be done by our teachers who passionately teaches
us, guiding us. We are not here if they didn't exist or if they didn't gave there best just to help us grow.

2.2 Teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions. - Unknown

Like what others said, teaching is the poorest profession. But little did they know that, Teacher creates all of those profession. They
can create doctors, engineers, agriculturists and other noble professions. Without them, we cannot fully embrace the changing world
through technology because teachers are part of change and innovation.

2.3 A good teacher is like a candle—it consumes itself to light the way for others. - Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

We all know that, teachers are the most noble profession. Teachers are for lifetime and has direct impact on us. They can even
sacrifice their time through efforts, even if they are tired or sicked, they will always think on their students. Because teachers who
has passion for teaching treat teaching profession as their life and student who are part of this is their second family or home.
2.4 Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. - Anonymous

For me, teacher who are really caring and really think on the well being of their students are the most loved educator. As a future
educator, we must learn how to care, connect with our student. Grieve with their sorrow but still help them to stand again. Receiving
love, respect and Admin may ne one of the best feeling that s teacher can receive to his/her student. It is fulfilling and forever be
treasured.

2.5 Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

Education is the main reason on the rampant changes on technology because we continue to gain knowledge and educate people.
Through education, we can change the world by teaching our students to become more compassionate or caring to others. To live is
to love just like what others say. As a teacher, educating our students to deeply understand the world and to become part of the
society as a caring person is a very good thing to do. It can really change the world by developing good inhabitants that can spread
this good and positive ideas. We must never stop learning and just always keep on innovating and sharing the good news and
positive mindset.
