I chose these characteristics that an ideal teacher should possess it is because first, as
future educators, we must be truthful enough for it is an important quality to have. When you
are an honest teacher, your students will trust you more, and your relationships will thrive.
Truthfulness is important because it not only helps to build trust in your relationships, but it
also helps to improve them. Second, a teacher must be an expert, because there is a saying
that a teacher is only as good as what they know. So if a teacher lacks knowledge in a subject,
then he/she cannot deliver important ideas successfully that his/her students must
comprehend. When a teacher has a deep well of understanding and expertise to draw on, then
every lesson is enriched, and every student might be inspired. Third characteristic that my
ideal teacher should possess is being approachable because if the students think of their
teacher as their enemy, they certainly won`t learn much. Students will probably have
questions that can`t be answered if the teacher isn`t friendly and not easy to talk to. So it is
very important that we must possess this because the best teachers are the most open,
welcoming, and easy to approach. Fourth is that as a teacher, we must be caring. Once you
become a teacher, you care, not just about education, but also about your students` education,
students` happiness, well-being and life beyond the classroom. As a teacher who cares for
them, we must help them achieve their goals. Fifth is, if you want to enjoy your students
while learning, we must be humorous. We don`t have to be serious and strict all the time
because students might be intimidated and probably will not want us to be their teachers. It is
very important for our students to enjoy but the same time they are learning. Sixth best
characteristic is to become an engaging teacher because as Daniel Tanguay, senior associate
Dean of Education Faculty and Programs said. “If you were to envision that teacher that you
would want in your life, even now, you`re going to want someone who is very engaging in
front of the classroom. A good teacher will perform for their students to keep them going. It`s
not about sitting back and just lecturing, it`s about engaging in the work”. And that best
explains why a teacher must be engaging. Seventh is to be respectful. A great teacher respects
students. Students will feel safe to express their feelings if the teacher values and respects
each of his/her students’ ideas and opinions. Also, students will learn to respect and listen to
others, as they were influenced by their teacher. Lastly, teacher must be strong enough
because we all know that teaching is one of the hardest jobs there is. A great teacher will do
almost anything to help their students. They are always willing to help and make time even if
it`s tiring. Teachers won`t stop until they find a solution to every problems. As they said that
a teacher’s work is never done but the best ones never stop trying, they never quit. And for
me, these are the characteristics an ideal teacher should have.

B. REFLECTION Paper

As future teacher, I have the ability to change lives and develop well-educated and
respectable students; they can help with not only knowledge growth but personal
improvement too. It`s an incredibly rewarding career path and that`s one of my goals when I
become a full-fledged teacher someday. In order to me to achieve this goal of mine, I must
possess first the right and best skills a teacher must have, and that is also what I am working
on now. Because we all know that no one is perfect, I must say that yes I already have skills
that may help me in the future but I also want more, enough for me to tell myself that I am
already the best version of myself.

Me, as a full-fledged teacher who has a remarkable communication abilities, the

ability to lead, to work as part of a team, being multitasking and having an organization
skills, instructive skills, interpersonal skills and creativity, I will use these skills of mine
altogether in order for me to become a great teacher. These talents and skills will be a big
help in my profession. I am grateful that I can share these skills to my students and even to
my co-teachers, through inspiring them by my words of my experiences in life and give them
some realizations. With these skills I can give my students more knowledge and provide them
a good education that will help them to become a good citizen with intelligence and skills.

William Arthur Ward said, “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” For now we know that good
educators are high in demand as they said, but to be an effective teacher, you need to have a
diverse set of professional skills to complete the package and that`s the reason why.
