Assistive Listening Devices Available – Thanks to a gift from Jerry and Sue Denson, 4 personal
assistive listening earphones are available for anyone with hearing difficulty. They may be picked
up from a volunteer in the tech booth any Sunday. Remember to return them after worship!

Giving Reminder Updates – Giving updates through Oct. 31 are available at the Welcome

No Experience Necessary Study Meets Today – Join us at 10:45 a.m. in the Youth Room for No
Experience Necessary an adult study for people who have attended the 9 a.m. service.

New Member / Disciple Orientation Today – To find out more about becoming a member / dis-
ciple at SoJ attend a 2-hour orientation at 12:30 p.m. today. Lunch will be provided.

Women’s Journey Group Monday – All women are invited to Lori Prunyi’s 7 p.m. Monday to
walk together and support each other in our Christian journey. Info? Call Patti Linman, 281-9137.

Lutheran Woman Today Bible Study Monday – Women from The Fairways meet 7 p.m.
Monday at Anna Belle O’Mara’s to study “The Beatitudes” from the magazine Lutheran Woman

Young Adult Small Group – Meets Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Phil Greve’s. They are currently doing
a study of Mary, the mother of Jesus. For directions and information, contact Phil, 407-923-4506.
Monday, Nov. 26th, they will meet at SoJ at 7:30 to decorate a tree for Deck the Halls.

Women’s Book Club Tuesday – SoJ’s Book Club will discuss Left To Tell, the story of Inmacolee
Ilibagiza who survived the Rwandan Holocaust. Her story will astonish you. Her faith will leave

Community Thanksgiving Service Wednesday – SoJ will once again host the annual East
Orange County Community Thanksgiving Service, 7pm, Wednesday. 9 churches are involved this
year to share great music, a powerful message, and communion. The offering will support the new
Converge Food Ministries. This is always a very powerful service so if you’re in town, don’t miss it.

Wednesday Night Live – Wednesday Night Live will resume next Wednesday, Nov. 28th.

Men's Saturday Breakfast Returns Dec. 8th– All SoJ men are invited to enjoy a great breakfast,
Bible study, and fellowship Saturday, Dec. 8th at 8 a.m. Sign-up at the Welcome Center today.

JoyFest '08 – SoJ's 3rd JoyFest will be held the Saturday after Easter, March 29, 2008. A Planning
Team is being formed. To serve, sign up at the Welcome Center or contact team leader, Anna Elias.

Christmas Outreach Team Projects


• Christmas Dinners: We will provide Christmas dinners for up to 200 families through Harvest
of Hope in the Bithlo area.
• Gifts for Children and Youth: We will also provide gifts for abused teens living at the
Devereux House and needy children at Lawton Chiles Elementary School through No School Left
Behind. Look for the gift tree next Sunday in the lobby. If you like to shop, choose a gift tag and
follow the instructions carefully, returning the unwrapped gift, name tag, and receipt by Dec.
16th. You may also make monetary donations to purchase stocking stuffers for the children and
their siblings.
Please put your cash/check donation for any of these projects in a SoJ offering envelope by
Sunday, Dec. 16 and mark it either "Harvest of Hope", "No School Left Behind" or "Wherever
Needed". All donations up to $1,300 will be matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Thanks
for sharing!

Cleaning Volunteers Needed Tuesday – If you’re available Tuesday morning this week to help
clean on a holiday schedule, it would be a great blessing! See Bob Belk today!
Quilting Team – Quilters are needed the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 9:30am in the large classroom.
Plan to go to lunch. Call Quaidie Hock, 407-657-8420, or Marsha Call, 321-235-0898 for further
info.

Bicycle Ministry – Volunteers are needed to help repair bicycles for people in need at 10am on
the 2nd Saturday and 10 am on Wednesdays. To get involved call Will Stevenback, 407-401-1963.

Middle School Mall Madness Today! SoJ’s Middle School students and friends will chase down
clues in a scavenger hunt at Fashion Square Mall! Meet at SoJ at 4:30pm and bring money for
dinner in the food court. We’ll return at 7pm.

Calling all SPLASH ZONE Parents! We are encouraging all parents to assist the Kidmo emcee
with supervision once a month. Please sign up on the bulletin board in the Zone. Thanks!

Paid Nursery Attendant Opening –SoJ is still looking to hire a part-time nursery attendant to
work Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you, or someone you know is interested, see Nicole
Eastwood. Kathy Raue is filling in until we find someone. Thanks, Kathy!

Hands Full Of Bibles – It is our custom to provide Bibles to parents of every child / youth at SoJ,
1st grade and up, who do not yet have one. If you would like your son or daughter to receive a
Bible in December please sign-up at the Welcome Center soon!

SoJ Hosts Cub Scout Pack – SoJ sponsors Cub Scout Pack 134 at 7 p.m. on Monday nights. Boys
6 to 11 years old interested in being a Cub Scout should contact Chuck Call @ 407-375-4548.

Youth Recycling Project – SoJ’s youth recycle inkjet, laser cartridges, AND cell phones. Please
bring your empty cartridges and unused cell phones to the Welcome Center and drop them
into the appropriate boxes. Thanks for partnering with us in this fundraiser!

• Deck The Halls Nov. 28 – Dec. 2: Trees and Wreathes Silent Auction benefiting CAS.
• Blue Christmas, 6pm Sunday, Dec. 9: A time to remember loved ones and God’s presence.
• Global Christmas, 4-7pm Sunday, Dec. 16: A fun celebration of global Christmas traditions,
crafts and food for the entire family.

Alternative Christmas Gift Idea! For the “person who has everything”, consider buying a bag
of stucco to waterproof a mud block home in Burundi in their honor! One $20 bag will cover ½ a
house. Two bags will waterproof the entire home! A card will be provided to announce the gift. This
would be a great gift for birthdays and other special occasions too! See Patti Linman.

Joyful Noise Practice Tuesday – The worship team will rehearse this week on TUESDAY, 7-9
p.m. to prepare for Thanksgiving Eve and next Sunday.

Children's Choir / Sunday’s COOL Christmas Program– The Children’s Choir will NOT meet
this week so that families can attend the Thanksgiving Eve Service. Next week, Nov. 28, they will
begin preparations for the Sunday’s COOL Christmas Program by having tryouts for the 6 main
speaking parts. The Christmas Program will be during the beginning of both services on Sunday,
December 23rd. See Deborah Dennis or Nicole Eastwood for more information.

Joy Singers – Our Adult Choir will NOT meet this week due to the Thanksgiving Eve Service.
Rehearsals resume next week, Nov 28, 7 p.m. in the Worship Center.

Drama Team – SoJ's Drama Team consists of writers and actors who are interested in utilizing
their talents in short skits to enhance the worship experience. If you would like to be involved in
the Drama Team, please contact Sandy and Doug Gaston at 407-382-4027.

Private Music Lessons – SoJ’s Creative Arts Studio has 12 instructors teaching almost every
instrument and voice. For more information or to register, pick up a flyer in the Welcome Center.
