User Instructions for this CD-ROM

This CD-ROM publication reproduces a volume of the Nondestructive Testing Handbook series in portable
document format (PDF) files. Adobe ® Reader ® 5.0 or later is required to access them. Version 7.09 of the Adobe ®
Reader ® or later is suggested for the Advanced Search function.

Features of this CD-ROM

Features include color illustrations and linking throughout the book. In addition, all text for the book has been
indexed for Adobe ® Reader ® Advanced Search. This enhanced search feature allows the user to search for a topic
within an active document or in all chapters of the book simultaneously. Platform specific versions of the Adobe ®
Reader ® can be downloaded from the Adobe ® Web site <http://www.adobe.com>. The user is advised to check
system requirements and compatibility before installation. Note that content copying or extraction has been
disabled for this and all Nondestructive Testing Handbook CD-ROM publications. Low resolution printing is
enabled.

Explanation of Linking Structure

Begin by opening any chapter document (files ending with the file extension .pdf) or by accessing the table of
contents chapter links found in the Front Matter for the NDT Handbook for this volume. Each PDF document is
formatted to open with bookmark links in the navigation pane (left side of the document window) that direct you to
points within the current document and to the remaining chapters for the rest of the book.
