II. EVENT BACKGROUND: Our talk show is about career path for university student
after graduating. This talk show will give two students with two different choice the
perspectives from employees and recuiters

III. EVENT SCRIPT:

Trân: Welcome to the CAREER GUIDANCE FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS talk
show. As you know after graduating from university or college, it is hard to know what
you need to do in the future. So, we'll have a mini-game to survey students' opinions. The
name of the game is “This or That”. The rules will be shown on the video. Thanks for
joining.
Then we will share and discuss this issue/ problem with special guests who are graduate
students, employees and recruiters. And I would like to invite two student representatives
to explain your their choice after joining the game
To start the show, we will meet Trang. She looks very mature and beautiful. Hello Trang,
can you introduce yourself?

Trang: Hello everyone, I am delighted to be here today, my name is Trang. Now, I’m a
senior student of Da Nang University of Foreign Language and a trainee for an import-
export company.

Trân: I am very impressed with your background.  Do you have any plans after
graduation?
Trang: When I was a student at Da Nang University, I had experience with many part-
time jobs. My jobs help me make a living and support my family. And my plan after
graduation is to find a job, which is suitable for my major. To be honest, working for an
import-export company is corresponding with the knowledge which I learned 4 years
ago.

Trân: Thanks for your sharing. Today, we also invited another guest, Yen. She is quite
energetic and confident. Hi Yen, can you introduce yourself?

Yên: Good afternoon everyone, I'm yen. I have just graduated from Van Lang University,
majoring in design. However, I still don’t want to find a job. And I plan to travel around
the world.

Trân: I know after graduation you decide to travel and volunteer. So, what motivates you
to do that?

Yên: To be honest, I'm an explorer so I want to learn about different cultures to get more
knowledge to start my fashion show in the future. Moreover, I want to take the time to
relax after 4 years of college and join charity clubs to help those in need.

Trân: Thanks for your interesting sharing. We also invite another recruiter, Ms Thu.
What are the requirements and experiences of companies in the interview?

Thư: After listening to the two cases, I think everyone has their situation and different
decision for their future career path. From my perspectives, a fresh graduate student has
to decide what their priorities are and what they want to do after graduation. A candidate
with a nice attitude and is ready to learn would be easier to get the job than others.

Trân: Thanks for your useful sharing. To better understand, we will meet Ms Linh. She
will share her experiences and advices during her job

Linh: After a few years working, I have accumulated some experience for myself. I think
that  I'm still young and have plenty of time to experience new things so I often arrange
time to travel and also participate in volunteer organizations. After these meaningful
trips, I feel energetic and can accomplish my work easily and quickly. Currently, I am
working for a foreign company with a stable salary and I am very satisfied with my
current life.

Trân: Thanks for your sharing. After listening to some sharing, do you have any
questions?

Yên: If I choose to take a gap year, how do you think about this, Ms thư?

Thư:  As an employer, I am respectful of all candidates applying for a job in my

company. I would be more impressed with candidates having experience, but if anyone
has a suitable degree and ability, I would love to welcome them.

Trân: Trang, Do you have any questions?

Trang: Yes, Ms Linh. Did you have any difficulties when you started to work?

Linh: When I just graduated, I also struggled to find jobs everywhere. Sometimes, I get
very depressed. When starting a new job, I was confused because of the working
environment with new colleagues and not much experience. During this period, I have to
work hard to adapt to the new working environment.

Trân: Thanks for all advices. And I hope after this talk show, Trang and Yen will have
more motivation and so you can make great decisions in your future.
