Me: Dennis Yudkovich – Age: 19

Answer: I rarely drink soda, so around 1 can per week.
Question 2: How many sodas did you consume a week 5 years ago?
Answer: 5 years ago, I was a different person, and I did not watch what I ate or drank. I
would say that I drank around 5 cans of soda per week.

Answer: I was 9 years old and I had a major sweet tooth. I also did not know what sugar
or calories were. I definitely drank at least 7 cans of soda per week.
Question 4: What is your favorite soda?
Answer: It is a strong tie between Dr. Pepper and Root Beer, but if I had to chose one it
would be Root Beer.
Research Findings:
 48% of Americans drink at least one can of soda daily.
 Teenagers and young adults are the heaviest consumers of soda.
 As people get older, their soda consumption tends to decrease as well.
 Lower income Americans consume more soda that higher income Americans.
 Overall soda consumption has decreased since the year 2000.
Research and Interview Comparison:
 Research of primary and secondary sources suggest that adolescents and young adults
consume the majority of soda in the U.S. The interview I conducted displays that in my
situation, this fact is applied because I consumed nearly twice as much soda than my
father while growing up.
 People tend to watch their health as they age. This could explain the reason why so many
Americans stop drinking as much soda as they get older. The interview I conducted
justifiers this fact because my father, did indeed decrease his soda consumption over the
last 10 years.
 I would consider my family as a part of the middle class and according to my research, I
can estimate that my father and I drink around half as much soda as lower income
citizens and probably drink about twice as much soda as people who are higher income
citizens.
 According to the graph below, it is evident that soda consumption in the U.S. has been
decreasing over the last 2 decades.
