● SWBAT make a prediction on what will happen next in the story by using textual
evidence to recreate their own game.

A. Plan for reading the book:
● Before I read Jumanji, I will ask the students to pay attention to the kinds of events that
happen to the character as a result of the board game.
● I will remind the students the Budwing boys were the next game players and ask
them to use their utensils to recreate the game with their own predictions of what
will happen for each board place with the Budwing boys.
● They will be instructed to end their board games with how far they predict the
ECE 260 - 3001 Urrea 2
5. Closure:
● I will review each students game and ask them what in the story has given them
the prediction of how far the Budwing boys will make it.
● My goal correct answer will be the passage in which Mrs. Budwing is speaking of
how her son's fail to complete any tasks they have started. I will ask if they think
the game might teach the boys their lesson as an added thought or insight.
