X+9 = 56/100(x+9+x)
 25(x + 9) = 14(2x + 9)
 3x = 99
 x = 33
So, their marks are 42 and 33.

passed only in Quants?
ANS = Failed – 5% of 60 = 3
Passed – 20% of 60 = 12
Passed in Reasoning – 50% of 60 = 24
Passed only in reasoning = 24-12 = 12
Passed only in quants = 60-(12+12+3) = 33

5. The maximum marks per paper in 3 subjects in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are set in the ratio

What is overall percentage marks did he get overall?
ANS = 40*1/100: 60*2/100: 35*3/100 = 0.4:1.2:1.05
100*2.65/6 = 44%

420 * 100/60 = 700

8. 30% of a number when subtracted from 91, gives the number itself. Find the number.
ANS = let no. be X
