AIM

The aim of the research project is to find out way which could be used in the future
for stable, cheap, effective and reliable source of energy

INTRODUCTION

Looking to the past or modern civilization people burn coal in power station in order
to produce electricity or processes that are not environmental friendly and these
fossil fuel is harming the environment causing climate change and pollution so these
can result in soil erosion , poor air quality and also undrinkable water. Therefore the
research is done in order to find objective ways of renewal energy which also helps
conserve the nations natural energy. A way that provides reliable power supplies and
fuel diversification which enhance energy security and lower risk of fuel spills. Energy
that will meet our needs and demands to heat our houses, power our cities and run
our cars meaning less pollution and greenhouse gas emissions which contribute to
climate energy. These renewable energy sources are suggested to be biofuels, hydro,
solar and wind.

SUBTOPIC 1 : BIOFUELS

Biofuel, any fuel that is derived from biomass that is a plant or algae material or
animal waste. Since such feedstock material can be replenished readily , biofuel is
considered to be a source of renewable energy unlike fossil fuels such as petroleum,
coal and natural gas. Biofuel is commonly advocated as a cost effective and
environmentally benign alternative to petroleum and other fossil fuels , particularly
within the context of rising petroleum prices and increased concern over the
contribution made by fossil fuel to global warming .

SUBTOPIC 2: HYDRO POWER PLANT

Hydroelectric energy also called hydroelectric power is a form of energy that

harnesses the power of water in motion such as water flowing over a water fall to
generate electricity. People have used this force for millennia. Over 2000 years ago
people in Greece used flowing water to turn the wheel of their mill to ground wheat
into flour.
How does hydroelectric energy work?
Most hydroelectric power plants have a reservoir of water ,a gate or valve to control
how much water flows into the reservoir and an outlet or place where the water
ends up after flowing downward. Water gains potential energy just before it spills
over the top of a dam or flows down a hill the potential energy is converted to
kinetic energy as water flows downhill. The water can be used to turn the blades of a
turbine to generate electricity , which is distributed to the power plants customers.

SUBTOPIC 3: SOLAR POWER

Solar energy, radiation from the sun capable of producing heat, causing chemical
reactions or generating electricity. The total amount of solar energy incident on
earth is vastly in excess of the worlds current and anticipated energy requirements.
If suitable harnessed this highly diffused source has the potential to satisfy all future
energy needs.
HOW IT WORKS?
Photovoltaic (PV) or solar cells convert sunlight into electricity, when light strikes the
semiconductor material of a solar cell , it releases electrons that generate electric
current. A solar panel or PV panel is a frame with several connected solar cells. The
more solar panels are connected together the more electricity is produced.
Solar panels produce direct current (DC) we connect the solar panels to an inverter
which changes current from DC to AC electricity.
The clean electricity from the sun can replace power from the national grid or a
generator and eliminates all the harm of power from fossil fuel.
SUBTOPIC 4: WIND POWER

Wind energy is a form of solar energy. Wind energy or wind power describes the
process by which wind is used to generate electricity. Wind turbines convert the
kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. Wind is caused by the uneven
heating of the atmosphere by the sun , variations in the earths surface and rotation
of the earth. Mountains bodies of water and vegetation all influence wind flow
patterns. Wind turbines convert the energy in wind into electricity by rotating
propeller like blades around a rotor. The rotor turns the drive shaft which turns an
electric generator. Three factors affect the amount of energy a turbine can harness
from the wind , wind speed , air density and swept area.

PREFARED SYSTEM
CONCLUSION

After the research that I conducted I think its best if we use biofuel because biofuel
power plants produce electricity consistently running 24 hours per day 7 days a week
regardless of weather conditions. Also that it is naturally replenished and therefore
does not run a risk of depleting on a human time scale
