McDonald’s Supply Chain

McDonalds uses direct suppliers that coordinate purchasing and distributing to restaurants.
McDonald’s has a total of 40 suppliers in which 14 are core suppliers, known as Tier-1 suppliers,
they supply directly to the fast food chain.
Ray Kroc who joined McDonald’s in 1954. McDonalds supply chain management focused on
the long term-outcome, not the short term one. McDonals supply chain strategy was aimed to
finding suppliers who would become partners of Mcdonalds.
