PROCEDURE FOR LAYING OF UNDERGROUND RTRP PIPING SYSTEM

6.2.7 Anchor / Thrust blocks

Anchor / Thrust blocks shall be installed at the specified locations as per the stress analysis Isometric Drawing
before doing the hydro test.

6.2.8 Road / Wadi crossing

The RTRP pipe has to be installed and protected with concrete slab or CS/ HDPE sleeve pipes for those road
crossing with buried depth less than 1500mm. Centralisers shall be used to support the RTRP pipe inside the
casing (sleeve). The end seals shall be used to prevent the entering of any dust or sand particles.
In case of metallic casing pipe, Pipe sleeve shall be coated as per the approved coating procedure.

At locations where concrete protection has been applied, the trench shall be backfilled with coarse gravel
and rock with a minimum dimension of 50 mm up to a level of 500 mm below grade level.

RTRP pipes shall be tested independently before inserting into the sleeves to check the integrity of the joint
which is coming inside the sleeve. For reducing the number of testing of road crossing and test ends, it can be
made as a longer slings and can be cut to the required length and shifted to the location for which it is required.

6.2.8.1 Installation of Centralizer and End seal for Road crossing Pipes

1. All Pipes shall be protected with correct Centralizers.

2. Place the 2 parts of the centralizer on either side of the pipe and tight the stud bolt which is coming
along with the set.
3. Insert the RTRP pipe inside the casing pipe slowly and carefully and make sure that centralizer
coming at the end of the casing pipe should not be more than 300 mm from the end of the casing
pipe.
4. Wrap the End seal on the RTRP pipe and casing pipe together in such a way that bigger side of the
end seal coming at casing end and smaller side on RTRP with overlap on top side.
5. Tight the end seal with Juggle clamp on both sides which shall be supplied along with End Seal
