Strategic Initiatives vertical is the in-house consulting and corporate strategy arm for GPL. The team
is responsible for leading large scale transformation projects which have significant impact on the
company’s growth, profitability and long term capability development e.g. cost reduction, process
improvement, organisation structure design, etc. The work also entails working with external
consultants such as Bain, McKinsey, etc. to drive strategic priorities.
The role offers high visibility as you will work closely with GPL’s senior leadership team, provides
excellent leadership development opportunities and over time offers a high growth path to Business
head, CXO positions within GPL. The rich experience and skill enhancement that this role offers is
much sought after in the real estate sector as well as strategy roles across industries.
HO Strategy team engages on business critical topics with work structured around 3 key verticals:
Strategic Initiatives, Asset Management, Business planning. While these are structured as
separate verticals, team members typically move across verticals and regions often managing multiple
projects/work streams across verticals.
Role Specifications:
• Work with Functional Heads and Region Heads on key strategic assignments
• Conduct detailed design of initiatives, bringing in best practices and insights
from internal and external sources
• Identify and address gaps in business process and ensure their effective
implementation across the organization
Initiatives • Own the execution and delivery of all chosen transformational projects and
ensure regular problem solving, tracking and de-bottlenecking
• Project management of large scale initiatives – escalation of issues and
roadblocks along with mitigating actions to relevant owners, sponsors and
senior leadership team members
• Working with external consultants like Bain, McKinsey to drive strategic
priorities

Skills Required:
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and business acumen
• Ability to present issues clearly and provide answers
• Strong leadership, influencing and people management skills to be able to drive cross
functional assignments and decisions
• Strong communication skills (both written and oral) to engage with senior stakeholders and to
make CEO–level presentations
• Proficiency in MS- excel modelling, sound understanding of financial modelling
• High on initiative, ownership, pro-active approach and self-driven
• A knack for fun through innovation and out-of-box thinking and the energy to go the extra mile
