EDI Configuration

Guide

The following installation guide steps you through the set-up and configuration of the Mobile
Communicator EDI software. Before you begin please ensure you have the following software
already installed:

Step A

Enter Windows.

Click “Start” Button “Programs” then “Mobile Communicator” and then click “Electronic
Data Interchange”

You will now see the EDI – Electronic Data Interchange window. From here click on “Add”

You now have a list of EDI Applications, please select your system from the list, and if it is not
listed please select “Custom” and click “OK” If you system is listed then you may not need to
configure the system. If this is correct please go to “Step B”.

You now need to configure the System on the General Tab click “Enable” now enter the
“Display Name”

You need to configure the Export settings in order for the system to export your data from your
email account. Click “Enable” then you will need to configure your settings these will be
included on a separate sheet “EDI Configuration details” enter these settings and click on the
“Import to outbox” tab.

To enable the import from outbox Click “Enable” then you will need to configure your settings
these will be included on a separate sheet “EDI Configuration details” enter these settings and
click “Apply” then “OK” then on the EDI Screen click “Close”

Step B

Now you have configured the EDI Settings we now need to enable this for your email account.
To do this Open “Microsoft Outlook”.

Click the “Send/Receive” button in the middle of the tool bar. Then mobile Communicator will
appear click “Send/Receive”

On the Mobile Communicator window click on the “Setup” tab then click on the “Advanced”
Button.

On the Advanced Settings window click on “Enable EDI processing for” then click “OK”

Then you will need to close all Mobile Communicator Windows and Restart Outlook. Once you
have restarted Outlook the EDI will be complete.
