The document describes tests performed on Newton's Cradle. Six tests are listed where marbles are pulled back to angles and released. For each test, the results are provided in 1-2 sentences. The tests show that when marbles are released individually or together, the energy transfers across the cradles in predictable patterns, with the middle marble(s) staying stationary and the outside marbles bouncing out or away in sync. Pulling the marbles back further to 80 degrees increases the distance traveled and time for the cradles to come to rest.

Testing Criteria Results (5pts each) Pull one marble back to a 45 deg. angle and It hits the other marble in line which sends release energy to the other ones. The marbles finally stop hitting each other and just swing softly. Pull two marbles back to a 45 deg. angle and It hits the middle marble which hits the release two on the other side. The two marbles on the other side bounce together mirroring how i originally dropped the first to marbles. The middle one barely moves and does not bounce out to the sides very hard. Pull one marble back on both sides to a 45 When I drop the marbles on each side at deg. angle and release the same time, the energy just keeps hitting the marbles and they bounce out at the same time, not every other. The three other marbles in the middle stay in roughly the same place throughout. Pull two marbles back on both sides to a 45 The four marbles, when dropped at the deg. angle and release same time, hit the middle marble and bounce off of it. Just like the former test, the four marbles bounce at the same time. The middle marble just stays in roughly the same place. Pull one marble back to roughly 80 deg. angle On my first attempts, it went a little wild, and release but once I got the string tightly pulled back at the right angle, it worked. The marble on the other side bounced a lot farther and it took a bit longer for the marbles to come to a stop/sway. Pull one marble back on both sides to roughly It took a bit to get there, but it finally got to 80 deg. angle and release the point where the marbles would bounce off each other. They hit the other marbles and bounced off at the same time. It took longer to die out, but it finally died out.
