I. Project Title
Total Budget
The Coastal Clean-up program had no budgetary plan for the materials needed
are just plastic bags and sacks. Meanwhile, the Environmental Awareness Campaign
has a total budget of P 1 600 in accordance with the materials for trash-bin making,
distribution of pamphlets, building of placards and tree guards . For the Educational
Outreach program budget is P 2 000 used in buying seventeen pair of slippers,
educational materials and prizes for games. The remaining P 940 was used for
additional expenses such as travel fare, vehicle’s fuel and multimedia purposes.
Duration
Before starting the projects, the first and second meeting was allocated for surveying.
The duration of the programs must at least fit the five week bracket for such tasks are
done accordingly by assigning team members.

III. Beneficiaries
For the Environmental Awareness Campaign, its beneficiaries include all the
residents in the Purok 1. Its to encourage all of the indigents to indulge themselves in
such activities for recreational purposes and also for the benefit of the environment
while discourage the burning of plastics.
Lastly the Educational Outreach Campaign’s target audience are children with the
age of four to twelve who lives within the area. As the team teaches them basic
concepts of proper waste disposal, personal hygiene and sanitation, lessons about
nutrition and teaching good manners and right conduct.
V. Potential partners
The project involves the participation of the NSTP-CWTS students specifically the
Team Loyalty (comprising of BS in Food Technology, Forestry, Environmental
Science, Agribusiness and Statistics). The project would not be successful without the
full support of our coordinator Mr. Marlon Dampios, the team facilitators
Ms.Samantha Almaden and Ms.Iahleah Besas. The project was at Purok 1, Barangay
5
Sta. Cruz with the aid of the Barangay Captain Engr. William Ramoneda who
suggested to implement the project in Purok 1 along with other barangay officials and
the residents of Barangay Sta.Cruz.
VII. Supervisor/ Team Coordinator
VIII. Rationale
Throwing of waste product along the shore of Purok 1, Barangay Sta. Cruz is
observed as the population increases. Difficulties in controlling its residence on
proper disposal of their garbage has been a problem to its environment. As part of the
main objective of the proposed project, a coastal clean-up along the shore of Sta. Cruz
as well as its nearby areas will be conducted.
This aims to promote a better environment for the residents of the barangay.
As a twist of this project this involves not just the CWTS students but also the youth
through the help of barangay officials. This will encourage them to maintain the
cleanliness and will hone one’s ability to get along with others aside from helping
them live in a better environment. This would also help minimize the garbage in the
coastal areas, prevent diseases caused by improper waste disposal and provide
abundant opportunities for the residents especially the fishermen and indigents living
in the coastal areas. Such that they are the main target and center of the project.
The team noticed that the residents manner of segregation of waste is by burning
of plastics, all together with other garbage components. Interviewing different
indigents in the said area, we were able to know a shocking past from one of the
resident whose identity is withhold for confidentiality and protection of privacy. A
parent of five kids supposedly, told us a story about the death of her child from cancer.
That resident burned plastics everyday, without knowing that burning it would release
harmful chemicals that could cause cancer.
With that story, the team’s dedication fires up. The intention of this campaign is
to promote complete awareness, that their common ways of disposal is harmful to the
6
During Saturday visits, the team noticed children playing near the seashore. Upon
arrival, a sudden curiosity strikes them. That leads us to an inspiration which is to
involve them in such lectures that would help them to be more productive and spend
their spare time on meaningful things.
IX. Objectives
X. Methodologies/ Strategies
The three programs share the same methodology and strategy. It involves survey,
lecture about the problem and most especially the application of the said programs.
Methodologies
Division of labor and concrete plan of work is the main method for the success of the
project. To achieve that the team has the following methods:
The team is divided into three subgroups ( in accordance with the program) and is
then again subdivided into factions ( documentation, logistics and
7
communication) in which every member has assigned tasks so that the project
will work efficiently.
The logistics will take care of the materials and will prepare for the area of venue
during the respective programs. They will be the ones to follow up the members
of the subgroups if they have prepared the materials that are essential. They must
report to their team leader two days before the initiation.
The communication team is responsible for making surveys, gathering data and
providing information during lectures. They are the link between the residents
and the team. They must record the data every time the team visits and puts the
project into action. They are encouraged to show a progress/ development report
at the every end of the initiation.
The documentation will compile videos and images throughout the project in
order to see the progress and also showcase what the project is all about. They are
tasked to show their compilation in the end of every program.
Strategies
Consistency
The strategy of the team is consistency. The team must be consistent in
maintaining every part of the plan and must also practice discipline by passing and
accomplishing their tasks in accordance to the respective deadlines.
Effective Communication
Also establishing communication is important. The team must communicate with
one another by sharing the data that they gathered through any forms of media such as
facebook, texting and having regular meetings at least once a week with the president
as the proponent. Also the team must communicate with the residents and must listen
to all their concerns and suggestions. The team collected contact numbers from the
residents in order to propagate effective communication and interaction every week,
for us to know if they are practicing the concepts learned.
Discipline
The role of the facilitators and the coordinator is to guide the whole members of
the team. Discipline is highly emphasized throughout the project by giving out
demerits according to their deficiencies. Also the facilitators and our coordinator
would not want to exercise inferiority complex. And breaking that atmosphere , they
implement conditioning by giving out merits to every job well done.
8
Consistency, effective communication and discipline are they key ingredients for
a more clean and environment friendly community.
The outcome or expected output of the Coastal Clean-up Program is for the
residents to introduce the importance of a clean coastal area. Since the elderly are
busy with their works and whereabouts as a parent and guardian, their children will be
the one expected to do a clean-up drive after high tides. It’s to lessen the waste
materials which are being thrown and to be able to set a permanent schedule for a
coastal cleanup which during their free times (e.g weekends and holidays).
The three programs still share the same plan. Though it has a different ways of
implementation depending on what the type of program it is. It’s decided that there
should be at least four or five meetings per program . It can be achieved by assigning
a certain program in its specific date of implementation. The plan of work goes like
this:
1. Conduct a house to house interview and know every resident’s outlook and
situation.
2. Determine the projects that needs to be implemented by asking potential
questions that would inspire us to put the programs into practice.
9
1. Making tree guards, trash-bins and placards. Jotting down ideas for the
lectures, pamphlets and videos.
2. Initiation of the program.

2. Report the developments and tackle concerns in order to avoid future
problems.
