    Standard Operating Instruction

    BKPL
    Ref No : BKPL/SOP/HSE/006-R00
    Process : Disposal of unused Hazardous chemicals
    Scope :Includes disposal of unused hazardous chemicals related
    to environmental aspects and occupational health and safety risks.
    Description :

    Description of activities Responsibility


    1. Perform Chemical sweep to assess the quantity of unused
    hazardous chemicals.
    2. Store and handle unused Hazardous chemicals as per
    respective MSDS.
    3. Identification of approved vendor to collect the unused
    Hazardous chemicals for disposal.
    4. The vehicle used for transportation should have all
    certificates from motor vehicle dept
    Environmental Controls:
    1. Storage to be done in a roofed area
    2. Ensure that no rupture of cans and drums during collection
    and disposal.
    3. Ensure used cans and drums to be kept closed to avoid
    fumes.

    Health & Safety Controls:


    Ensure the use of PPEs like Helmet, Gloves, Safety shoes, masks
    etc
