Fenwick Brands is a Birmingham, Alabama-based and female-led investment firm focused on high-growth consumer
companies. Fenwick partners with emerging consumer brands where the team’s expertise can translate into an active,
value-added role and accelerate brand scale. As a consumer-focused firm, Fenwick leverages a diverse lens, Southeast
location, and operating track record to guide brand selection, strategic priorities, and operating success. Over the past
seven years, the team has established a professional investment firm with the infrastructure in place to support long-term
capital deployment and returns. As part of the firm’s growth trajectory, Fenwick is seeking to hire an Associate to augment
and support the existing team. This is a key role for the firm, with long-term carrier progression potential and immediate
exposure to Partners and senior executives within the portfolio companies.

Position Summary:

The Associate will support both Partners in the overall execution of the firm’s strategy. Responsibilities include industry
research driving investment theses, deal evaluation, financial modeling, transaction due diligence, portfolio company
monitoring, and financial reporting. The Associate will support a lean, collegial, and non-hierarchical team and will have
the opportunity to take on significant (and increasing) amounts of responsibility. Expect frequent travel for business
development, deal execution, and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Industry Research
o Quantitative and qualitative analysis, including identification of key industry trends, competitive factors,
and target companies within favored categories
o Valuation analyses for potential investment categories through comparable transactions and industry
discussions
o Monitor consumer markets and stay on top of current industry trends and transactions

• Business Development & Investment Execution


o Assist in business development efforts, identifying and contacting target investment opportunities (this
includes maintaining records in CRM system)
o Involvement in all aspects of the investment process, including deal sourcing, analysis, and structuring
o Provide transaction support throughout the entire deal process
o Analyze return outcomes under various equity structures; perform IRR and ROIC analysis
o Support the preparation of investment summary and investment committee materials

• Portfolio and Operational Support


o Analyze current and past financial performance and prepare reports and other materials based on this
analysis; prepare detailed forecasts and quantitative analysis and evaluate and adjust assumptions on an
ongoing basis
o Support the preparation of investment reporting and Limited Partner communications
o Create and edit ad hoc presentations for portfolio companies, Board and investor reports

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following fields: private equity, investment banking,
corporate development, M&A transaction advisory services (quality of earning analysis, valuation, etc.)
• Experience in corporate finance, accounting or similar fields is a plus
• A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office – (Outlook, Excel, Word & Power Point)
