Fenwick Brands is a Birmingham, Alabama-based and female-led investment firm focused on high-growth consumer
companies. Fenwick partners with emerging consumer brands where the team’s expertise can translate into an active,
value-added role and accelerate brand scale. As a consumer-focused firm, Fenwick leverages a diverse lens, Southeast
location, and operating track record to guide brand selection, strategic priorities, and operating success. Over the past
seven years, the team has established a professional investment firm with the infrastructure in place to support long-term
capital deployment and returns. As part of the firm’s growth trajectory, Fenwick is seeking to hire an Associate to augment
and support the existing team. This is a key role for the firm, with long-term carrier progression potential and immediate
exposure to Partners and senior executives within the portfolio companies.
Position Summary:
The Associate will support both Partners in the overall execution of the firm’s strategy. Responsibilities include industry
research driving investment theses, deal evaluation, financial modeling, transaction due diligence, portfolio company
monitoring, and financial reporting. The Associate will support a lean, collegial, and non-hierarchical team and will have
the opportunity to take on significant (and increasing) amounts of responsibility. Expect frequent travel for business
development, deal execution, and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Industry Research
o Quantitative and qualitative analysis, including identification of key industry trends, competitive factors,
and target companies within favored categories
o Valuation analyses for potential investment categories through comparable transactions and industry
discussions
o Monitor consumer markets and stay on top of current industry trends and transactions
• Fit with Fenwick mission, team, and values (desire/passion to make a difference)
• All-in, creative problem-solver, self-starter, high confidence-low ego
• Superior communication skills (written and oral); comfort and command across multiple levels of seniority, both
internally and externally
• Maturity to operate both independently and as part of a team, and work directly with founders and senior
management teams of companies
• Ability to assimilate large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data and distill into clear, concise, and strategic
conclusions
• Sound analytical and financial modeling skills; strong business acumen
• Ability to take ownership of work product and handle several projects simultaneously; requires prioritization of
work based on deadlines, working alongside multiple managers
• High ethical standards, professional/personal integrity
• Self-directed and proactive, ability to anticipate needs and act
• Willingness to grow with the company and expand capacity as opportunities arise
