ACTIVITIES
Activity 1:
1. Find the measure of each interior angle, each exterior angle, and the sum of the interior angles of a regular
icosagon (20-gon)
2. The sum of the measures of a regular polygon is 4,140. Find the number of sides, the measure of each interior
angle, and the measure of each exterior angle.

 it has 20 interior angles. each angle is equal to 18 * 180 / 20 = 162 degrees. each external angle is
equal to 180 - 162 = 18 degrees. the sum of the interior angles of the icosagon is equal to 20 * 162 =
3240 degrees

( n−2 ) 180
162=
n

162 = (n-2)180
162 = 180n – 360
162n-180n = 360
-18n = -360
n = 20

360
m=
n

360
m=
25

m=14.4 each exterior angles measure 25 sides

(n-2) 180 = 4140

180n – 360 = 4140
180n – 360+360= 4140+360

180 n 4500
=
180 180
n = 25 the polygon has 25 sides

CHECK YOUR UNDERSTANDING

A
1. The interior angles total up to (30-2) * 180 = 5040. Each interior angle is that total divided by the number
of interior angles, or 5040/30 = 168º: The measure of each exterior angle is the total divided by the
number of angles, or 360/30 = 12º.
2.
n = 10

Measure of each interior angle = 180° * (n – 2)/n

Substitution.

= 180° * (10 – 2)/10

= 180° * 8/10

= 18° * 8

= 144°

B.
1. 29.05 degree
2. 360

REFLECTION:
 I learned that solving a measures of polygons are not easy so I keep in mind the concept and the
formula is very important for solving problems
 I think the most difficult lesson to understand is the formula because some of does can’t I understand
easily. That’s why some of my answers are not correct.
 I think I can apply this lesson in everyday situation such as finding dimensions on a part of the lacquer
dimension, such as at construction sites.
 I want to learn more the lesson through this so that I can further grow my knowledge in the next
academic.
