Age Differences in Social Media

The rising dominance of social media possess a challenge for businesses.

How is it possible to get messages to consumers? You might think that advertising

can simply translate to social media, but are all social media platforms productive?

A recent article in Business Insider attempted to explain how one's age influences

perceptions of various social media outlets. For instance, older people tend to love

Facebook, whereas teens view it like an awkward family dinner with relatives. Adults

love Twitter, but teens largely don't get the point. And, whereas, Snapchat is

liberating to younger users, older adults have really not figured out that it even exists.

The point? Age influences how we interact with social media. As we interact people

of different ages, we have to remember that the menu of social media alternatives

differs.
Introduction

Social media is an outlet where ages really matters. It is true that almost all

people in the world has or possess at least one social media account, and because

of this fact, it makes social media attractive to the business owners for

advertisement. But how is this true? In social media, ages are great factor that affect

the perception of the business, for instance as stated in the text that most of

Facebook users are all adults while teens are all hooked into using snapchat while

older adults still haven’t figured out its existence.

Social media is a platform where several possibilities are possible to happen,

such as growing business and the likes. However, the users of the social media vary

especially in ages that will surely affect the perception of your business.

Language is a very important matter in the word. Because of language we are

able to communicate and tell information and even defend ourselves. In the

Chomskean Psycholinguistic it primarily aims to create grammatical structure that

would help the text’s meanings to be conveyed properly, given this discourse

analysis was born, aiming to analyze text and its social relevance or connection.

Given the text’s natural topic of social relevance, the next tabular presentation is

formed to present the discourse analysis of the given text.
