Entertainment industry - Additional vocabulary

VOCABULARY
Band A group of musicians who play their instruments together.
Clarinet Musical instrument with a long black tube which is played by
blowing into it and pressing the keys.
Classical music A type of music usually played by an orchestra.
Classical composers include: Mozart, Chopin and Beethoven.
Concert A live musical performance.
Dimension A measurable extent, such as length, breadth, or height.
Farm Area of land, and its buildings, used for growing crops and/or
keeping animals.
Farmer A person who works or manages a farm, with animals or
agriculture.
Festival An organized event in which there are performances of different
movies, plays, musicians, etc.
Flute A long, thin high-pitched musical instrument that is held with
two hands to the side of a person's mouth.
Frequently Occurring or done many times at short intervals.
Guitar A musical instrument with a long fingerboard (neck), usually
with 6 strings; played with the fingers or a plectrum (guitar
pick).
Impression A mark impressed on a surface.
Latest The most recent or newest.
Live In a live performance, the entertainer performs in front of people.
Musical Relating to or accompanied by music.
Organizer Person or group of people who plans and makes the
arrangements for an event.
Piano Musical instrument that has black and white key which are
pressed to play notes.
Pop Modern popular music.
Rock The hard mineral material of the earth's crust, exposed on the
surface or underlying the soil.
Shoplifter Person who steals goods from a store.
Tent A temporary house made of fabric.
The place where we can sleep when we are outside our house.
We can carry a tent in a bag.
To announce To make public.
To pick To take hold of and remove a flower or fruit from where it is
growing.
To play To perform a piece of music with an instrument.
To put on To wear, to place an item of clothing on one's body.
E.g.: Put on your coat, it's cold outside.

Do you think the presentation caused the wrong impression?

There were cows and sheep on the farm but no crops.
The old farmer never stopped for a day's vacation in forty years.
Four people are going to sleep in this tent tonight.
Would you like me to put on some quiet music before we eat?
She learned to play the piano before she was six.
The piano looked beautiful in the new theater.
Jazz musicians love the sound of the clarinet and piano together.
The flute is an instrument for classical music that sounds good for other types of music
too.
The sound of an electric guitar is louder than an acoustic.

ADDITIONAL VOCABULARY - VOCABULARY SENTENCES

You must see that musical if you can. The acting is good, but the songs are important too.
There were a lot of young fans at the concert to hear them.
People like live music more because the entertainer performs in front of the crowd.
My parents never went to a rock concert and don't understand why loud music sounds
good.
Street bands are a strong tradition in many different countries.
There are one or two classical music composers like Beethoven or Mozart who will always
be popular.
Pop music is more for young people than older adults.
Now it is summer, and there are many festivals in the countryside and in city parks.
