7 THE WORK SENQUENCE:

7.1 General
 To avoid any risk of segregation, concrete for peripheral walls and columns shall
be casted on two steps while respecting the Algerian regulations in this context.
 The first joint of the ground floor; will have a height of 2.90 m and will be cast
continuously all at once ( as per plan de calepinage -Annex N° 02)
The second joint of the ground level will be casted from the level +2.90 m until the
bottom of the beams (See Annex N° 01)
 The same concept will be adopted for the first floor regarding walls and columns.
 All workers those who are involved in concrete pouring shall be well oriented to
the nature of works ,to ensure that this procedure will be followed accordingly to
assure that the safety requirement will be adhered strictly.
 All structure for concrete works shall be performing in accordance with the project
technical specification and related standard.

7.2 Preparation
• Once the concrete of the platform is cast level +0.20 m, the formwork for the
walls and columns will be traced on the pavement.
• The concrete of walls has a width of 150 mm with a single nape of rebar’s diam
12 mm for a coating of 61 mm.
covering
• Chipping will be carried out on the concrete of the platform over a width of 150
mm before the starting erecting of rebars.
• Clean the Wall on grade using air compressor for dust or any small particles or
deleterious materials that may impair the workability of concrete.
• The surveyor will then check the level of the projected top surface of the wall and

place level strips if necessary to mark the exact level.

• The concreting must be arranged with necessary equipment or tools for
concreting use such as vibrators, shovel etc.
• Skilled and unskilled labor shall need to use safety requirements such as safety
helmet, safety shoes, goggles, gloves, vest etc.
• Safety devices and safety warnings shall be provided starting from the site
entrance gate till the casting area.
• Proper lighting must be available in case of night concreting.

REJECTED BY HSE
7.3 Scaffolding:
The scaffolding type LAHYER / ZAIDAN used for these works will comply with
the following requirements:
• Will be erected according to manufacturers or suppliers instruction.
• Assure that the ground surface is level, firm and suitable for the scaffolding
erection.
• Make sure all workers enter and exit the scaffold using a secured ladder.
• The scaffold must be inspected and tagged by qualified persons before any use.

7.4 Rebar Works:

• The steel rebars used should be according to international norms and Algerian
regulations.
• The steel rebar’s are cut and shaped in accordance with approved drawings by
CTC using suitable Equipment (shears /electric bending machine etc. ....).
• The Steel rebar’s for walls and columns shall be mounted over the entire height
of the first level in accordance with the plans.
Pre-assembled
• The rebar are attached with the wire (Tie wire).and will be lifted up by crane
rebar
• To ensure the covering
coating of steel, we are going to use concrete spacers thickness
61 mm.
• The location of steel rebar will be according to the approved drawings, all in
accordance with the diameter of the steel bars as well as the overlap length.
• Once the steel rebar works finished, the client can proceed with inspections of all
rebars of walls and columns before starting the form work activity according to
the form works setting plan.

7.5 Formworks:
• The form work to be used is newly procured metallic panels Type ZAIDAN
GIGANT designed especially for these buildings ( reference technical data sheet
on Annex 03)
• The panels are 3.0 M high and width is according to the attached drawing.
• These panels are designed to take concrete
concert pressure of 65 KN/m2.
• The erection of these panels will be done by assembling the maximum on the
ground and then lifted by crane to be fixed in place.
• The panels will be erected conforming to the setting plan prepared by the
supplier and by respecting the distances and the spacing.
• All formwork elements will be oiled with oil formwork. It is imperative not to spray
oil on the rein forcing steel.
• The first joint at ground floor will be casted one shot up to the level of 2.90 m ,
after 24H , we can proceed with the form work striking to start the second upper
joint.
• For the concrete curing , the concrete surface of walls and columns shall be
protected by hessian sheet after form work removal and will be watered 02 times

• The second upper joint will be done with the same form work panels and will be
resting on the first joint concrete.
• Same curing technique will be used for second joint.

7.6 JOINT:
7.6.1 Resumption joint Horizontal:
When resumption of concrete is required. It is imperative to proceed as follows:
• Before depositing new concrete on or against concrete which has hardened, the
surface of the hardened concrete shall be thoroughly scraped and cleaned in a
manner that shall not leave loose particles of aggregates or damaged concrete at
the surface and shall be thoroughly cleaned of foreign matter and laitance.
• The surface of hardened concrete shall be thoroughly moistened with water
immediately prior to placing fresh concrete.
• Then apply the adhesive layer of the product Type Sikalatex -Sika product-/
Medalatex -Granitex product based for resumption concrete (See Annex).

7.7 CONCRETE CASTING:

• All materials will be available in advance on site, as per needed quantity of
concrete.
• We will use the mix design already approved, B25-2F/ with CRS Lafarge Cement.
• Before concreting operation. It is important that the formwork is free of any
residues and waste is removed.
• Final inspection will be done prior to concrete casting.
• Stand by vibrators shall be available at the site in case of breakdown of the used
vibrators.
• Adequate number of manpower and equipment will be made available for
concreting and post concreting finish.
• Concrete shall not be dropped into place from a height exceeding 3.00 meters,
nor shall it be dropped through dense reinforcing steel that can cause
segregation of the coarse aggregate.
• Prior to concreting all formwork shall be moistened with clean water. Concrete
shall be casted in regular layers not exceeding 400 mm thickness. The time
interval between completion of one layer of concrete and the commencement of
the next layer shall preferably not exceed 30 minutes but in no case shall exceed
45 minutes.
