The study of demographics is essential for businesses, organizations and governments to make

decisions that can impact the general population. Toward this end, these organizations monitor,
collect and analyze available data on the various characteristics of a population.

Why is it important to study the statistics of births, deaths, income, or the

incidence of disease?

To further develop critical thinking and analytic skills, to act a an informed

consumer, and to know when you need to hire outside statistical help. And it
provides you necessary tools and conceptual functions in qualitative
reasoning to extract information intelligently from different sets of data. And
Statistics is very much applicable in real life. It will help you analyze the data /
information you have gathered to make good informed decisions.
